Absolutely! Nano Coatings are HIGH WATERPROOF... They are made to isolate your device and repel water! Now that's possible!:)

Note necessarily bullshit or marketing! It could be real!:) but surely the article is bad written and imprecise!

from what i remember of reading of nan coating or whatever it's called.. it does "waterproof" your phone. HOWEVER, you're not supposed to use it in water or even have it turned on after it's been submerged or splashed on. you're supposed to turn it off and let it dry for a certain period of time before even using it again.

i don't know about anyone else here, but I think sony's solution is better as I can't go without a phone for a few days.

@moogoo i agree with you. With my old Xperia Z I had it in the sea in the hotel pool while on holiday and not one issue what so ever I'm yet to fully submerge my Z1 except while in the shower and im more than sure it will be the same. There is one company called liquipel that can waterproof your phone at a cost but not sure to what degree ie splashproof or fully submergable but just as Moogoo said I prefer Sony's take on how to waterproof a phone.

liquipel.com is the website if you want see how much it would cost to waterproof your smartphone

^liquipel is the one i was referring to. i read about it when it first came out and they require you to turn your phone off and let it dry before using it. that's not cool!

what they actually do is take apart your phone and run it through a machine that coats all the circuitry to make it "waterproof". but they don't actually suggest that you use your phone underwater or to even leave your phone submerged. it's just a preventative measure JUST IN CASE your phone gets dropped in a sink or puddle or (god forbid) the toilet (hopefully before it's been used.. eww).

if these types of coatings were the best type of waterproofing that would allow for use of electronics underwater, there would be no need for underwater housings or anything like that. but right now, these coatings simply help prevent total device failure for temporarily submerged devices.

I would also say a phone being waterproof is a lot more beneficial to everyday users than lets say the humidity sensor in Galaxy series. Rather than filling the phone with gimmicky bloatware and reducing the amount of available internal memory with stuff you probably will never use or even know you had Sony have gone down a different route and gave their phones a feature that is a benefit to all

Ah but I have 32 gig internal memory and 32 gig SD car in my Note 3 I think Nano coating is mostly splash resistant

Yeah i think Samsung may have to fit 32GB of storage on all their flagship devices if my memory is correct the S4 has around 8GB of available storage from 16GB on board due to bloatware its good to see they fixed it with the note 3. Just a quick question though of your 32GB storage how much is available?
