Most likely.

The other likely reason is that due to phones such as the 6680 and N70 being released by Nokia, the old P910i wont stand a chance against them (poor vga camera, no 3G, old interface etc).

Nah it just confirms what SE already announced. That the P910 is no longer being produced. Any little stock that is left with any of those providers may be offered as a limited choice for hardware upgrades to those existing users who's own P910 is crushed. at possibly cost price of the wireless provider.

EDGE is only 2.5 times faster than GPRS. So it is not that great when most operators are already working on their UMTS/WCMDA/3G networks. I would say EDGE only hits the 2.5G mark.

Yes, you right but there are very major markets like USA that have poor 3G coverage and full EDGE support...

Still no excuse ... Orange France I believe has just launched EDGE networks; along with 2 other French wireless telcos and they all already have existing UMTS networks gone live long ago. Clearly there is a market for EDGE .... like the EDGE blackberry 8700f.

and finally the best proof for use of EDGE

Now dont comment that this isnt related because the P990i will use software licenced from RIM; the maker of the BlackBerry.

Hello all,

Been a while since I've posted here but anyway...

Just so you all know I was talking to my stores SE rep and he confirmed around the 28th of January the P990 will be in vodafone stores (and others presumed).

Really can't wait to lay my hands on the P990i... really hoped to have a Christmas present from SE, but well... now I am hopeful for a Valentine's surprise from SE instead...
