Im a bit dissapointed at the new FW, ok it works better but far from "100 times faster" "it flies" and other comments =/
SMS is still very slow, contacts etc.

The "100 times faster" comment was for a different firmware version that's not available to us. That one allowed users to turn transitions on/off.

Yawn... Nothing to add... good luck with your rubbish phone... My blackberry has been ordered. Real business phone. Not an expensive show off toy.

I've run a series of extensive tests regarding the video bug. I've concluded that it's not related to any particular theme. It happens all the time with every theme... even the default.
I've tried playing the videos (mp4 encoded with M3) from both the internal and external memory card. Same thing happens...it freezes.
All these tests were run after a master reset ... I even formatted the internal drive as well using the service menu... the bug still exists.
I've realised that, the bug appears only if the following sequence is carried out in the following order......exactly

1. Restart the phone first
2. open the media player
3. click the video player
4. click the video to start it
5. quickly tap the screen to switch the video to full screen
6. (this is important) As soon as the video starts in full screen, rotate the jog dial (up, down, up down, up down) as quickly as possible! (ie up,down 3 times very quickly)

Follow the above exactly as typed and you'll see for yourself.

You will need to restart the phone to recover normal functionality (keep the power button depressed for aprox 10 secs to switch it off), then switch back on.

This bug did not exist in the previous firmware!

Why would one do this anyway?

@fixfox
Does this bug appear when you start a movie, go to the full screen and after a few seconds realise that you need a higher or lower volume so you move a jog left or right? I ask this because that's the way I watch my movies i.e. edit volume in full screen mode. Sometimes I got that behaviour from my P990 but I have the older fm (so I usually check the volume setting before starting a movie). If the answer is no, and I think Ares confirmed that, than I would rather say that the so called bug is fixed.

I have cda/6 and my FW is still R7 (which sucks because still cannot DL) and I have experienced that before so i tried it again moving the jog dial when the video is switch to full screen and my phone just freezes! so i believe this was overlooked! hehe

You are absolutely right .... what I discovered, was to adjust the volume before switching to full screen. That works fine.

Thanks for letting us know.... this problem obviously existed in the previous FW then.
It has definitely not been fixed yet... that's for sure!
