I formated the phone, reflashed but it happens again and again - business partners think that i do not want to talk to them. Phone sleeps and when a call comes in it offers yes or no to take the call or not - but i can not press yes to take the call - as if the key lock would still be active!!...

I seem to be having similar problems. It is only if the phone has been in-active for a while that it re-boots on an incoming call. sometimes the number is in my phone book and i can call back, sometimes the number is not in my phone book and i have no idea who called.

And what I read in your previous post kind of confirms my suspicion!

I have this happen now too... after month of NOT happening. THe only thig besides a newer fw is that I have now swiss manager pro installed!!!!

And for all those that have the phone RESTART either with or without receiving a call.........how many of you have swiss manager / pro installed???

I think now it is surely related!

I did not use this program since I got my phone in August last year and never had those restarts at all. And after the R9 fws it never had even a kernel thing!

Now I just thought give swiss manager a try since almost everybody here uses it and it is quite good to have a software/feature that automatically closes idle or finished tasks/programs. (SE should build this in, those incompetent freakers)

But since I have it running, I have experienced these restarst when a call comes in!

So one has to think what is more of importance... once in a while restarts while reveiving calls... or closing programs automatically.

Because for all the rest of the features, not that important.

I am looking forward if SE will INCLUDE in their upcoming fw that feature and also the option to turn off transitions.

If not, the p990 will be gone for sure! I don't accept that we as users would have to buy additional programs to get basic features. And closing of programs as well as turning off transitions if they cause delays... is a must for this amount of money the p990 costs.

Regards

I don't have Swiss Pro and as soon as I upgrated to R 4B03 I had restarts while reveiving calls which have stoped now( maybe 2 the last 3 weeks).

I have the most recent FW with Swiss M pro. I have never experienced shut down with incomming calls. I'm quite pleased with the phone as it is now.

The restarting caused by incoming calls has happened about 3 times since October, if I remember correctly once with each new fw. The last time I know SMP was active, I don't remember the other two times.
I am speculating here but perhaps this condition may have something to do with locale setting as the FM RDS problem restarting the P990 with the previous fw. It would be interesting to know if anyone with UK English setting has experienced this problem.
I guess we should try to analyze this problem ourselves as no help should be expected from SE. Naturally, they are welcome to follow this thread and make use of any information that may help
All those who experience this problem, if you could try to report here the conditions under which this problem happened maybe we could figure the cause of this problem.
Please report any activity that was done just prior to the restart, whether SMP or any memory/task management program is in use, the state of BT, WLAN and the call management options in use at that time.

Sorry I was wrong I actually had restarts while reveiving calls after I upgrated to R9 with R4B03 it is much better. I used to get them any time no pattern. It would restart before you answer the incoming call but you could see the call you missed on the call list.

Its not a solution, but check to see whether your network has enabled the *#147# function. If so, when you send that command, you get the last incoming call details as recorded by the provider.

Do I send that as a SMS? if so to where? Maybe I wil call up my network and ask them but given that they barely knew how to set up my MMS I am not holding my breath.

My phone restarts might be only when the keylock is on and there has been no recent activity. Obviously I have not checked RAM availabity before the restart.
