I dont hate this phone. I just dont understand why some people are so smitten by this phone that they are willing to twist the reality to make the K850 something that it is not.
that because they own the phone and they know exactly how good is the camera
they dont depend on others reviews
So you are just speculating?
did you read the example I gave ^_*
Some shots by K850 gives more details (but with all the wrong color ).
I agree with you that some of the K850i shots are reddish and that effect on the general pic but that can be solved
in your test for the sharpness
even it is in hard
but still the details of the back tree is lost

True. You can believe what you want. But it is arrogant and over-presumptous to say as general statement that it is better than N95 when other proof (like the reviews I posted) point to the opposite.

You can kid yourself all you want but Purple fringing cannot be solved by software.

That's because I did not point the cam over the horizon. The focus is on the foreground pool. Trees in the foreground using the soft and medium sharpness setting has little sharpening effect and yet details is still quite acceptable. And there is no noise unlike similar K850 shots which are infested with graininess/noise and have a layer of white haze.

@mib1800
what?
you just posted the conclusion of each comparison which is completely personal opinions !!!
and the reason that quite a large number of members here like the k850 quality is because they HAVE THE DEVICE IN THEIR HANDS for a month now (rather than 4 or 5 days). and this is their presonal opinion
i said that the pictures by gsmarena and M-R and (PHONEDAILY as you mentioned) showing far better quality from K850
as i said in my last post!!!
""">>>"""
see!! i just said better (compared with what you posted)
an example from phonedaily:
k850:
http://img.eprice.com.tw/img/news/6166/a25_original.jpg
N95:
http://img.eprice.com.tw/img/news/6166/a26_original.jpg
(look at the sharpness of the k850 image... specially the trees)
K850:
http://img.eprice.com.tw/img/news/6166/a27_original.jpg
N95:
http://img.eprice.com.tw/img/news/6166/a28_original.jpg
(look at the trees- the grass - the leaves - the flowers - .... to see what the n95 noise reduction do to the image. and compare it with the... noisy!!... k850 pic)
K850:
http://img.eprice.com.tw/img/news/6166/a31_original.jpg
N95:
http://img.eprice.com.tw/img/news/6166/a32_original.jpg
(look at the pavement to see what i am talking about a bad noise reduction - the people and the blue lights !!)
and some from Mobile-review:
K850:
http://www.mobile-review.com/[....]ic/k850/n95vsk800/DSC00878.JPG
N95:
http://www.mobile-review.com/[....]k850/n95vsk800/08072007074.jpg
(look at the grass and the background of the landscape)
K850:
http://www.mobile-review.com/[....]ic/k850/n95vsk800/DSC00904.JPG
N95:
http://www.mobile-review.com/[....]k850/n95vsk800/17072007100.jpg
(look at the water on the lake and the background trees)
as you can see .. there are a lot of situations that K850 easily wins !! (even this is my personal opinion, others can think different) without taking the xenon flash into account!
i had a N95 and had the K850 for 2 weeks... on the print the K850 eats the N95 as the K850 printouts is more of natural colors than N95... n95 prints have too much color on the paper forcing too reduce the saturation before printing..
and as a final note:
the K850 does have the purple fringing that is a disappointment for such a good cam. i admit that the K850 lens have far less quality than the N95.
wide expose to the outside will attract dust and grease that has a very bad effect on the pics quality (even much of the purple fringing is because of the smudge on the lens)
after all i suggest you test a K850 by yourself... and see the results.
then you will have your personal opinion to share with others

Compare with what if I may asked? Your shrunken and specially selected shots which were taken after hours and hours of adjusting the camera settings to give the best outcome.

Give me break.
Are you so blind to see if I got my hands on the K850, I would certainly post side-by-side comparable shots of BOTH the phones (unlike some people who just blow the trumpets only with one-sided shrunkened and selected shots of K850

). And I am not so stupid to go and buy an over-priced K850 which is beaten to dust in functionalities by N95 just to prove the same point (that K850 cam is not better than N95) that these more reliable people have already proven.
http://www.phonearena.com/htm[....]-Review-review-r_1846-p_5.html
We are disappointed by the Sony Ericsson K850 and how it performs as a camera. Really, considering it is the top Cyber-shot branded phone, it should be one of the best on the market, but the comparison with the old N95 and the G600 shows different things.
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_[....]50_vs_nokia_n95-review-162.php
In this heavy-weight championship series the Sony Ericsson K850 managed to collect a total of 31 points, while the Nokia N95 managed to beat it by a slight margin with a total of 34 points. Those numbers are indicative only and you should give more weight to the results of the tests that matter most to you. It was a close call, but this time we prefer the Nokia model.
http://smape.com/en/reviews/n[....]Ericsson_K850ivsNokia_N95.html
Sony Ericsson were able to design a well-balanced 5 Mpix camera phone which isn’t bad at all at taking pictures but it has very few advantages over the N95 while the latter was able to beat its competitor in quite a number of tests.
http://www.phonedaily.com/news/?news_id=6166
translated...N95 relatively stronger/better color and showing more photo details gives N95 a small win (over K850)

You have selected shots which shows K850 have the advantage. Like you, I can also show you shots which N95 have the advantage. But unlike some here I am not so foolish to declare K850 is the winner when there are so many adverse review conclusions about the K850.

chombos1 ..and you forgot to list the MR conclusion !!!
I did once. If you want you can list it down again then. But I just can't fathom the reviewer of M-R who said all Nokia (incl. n-series) video recording as "mediocre" and those of W810/K750/K800 as "good"

hehe, mib, you have pasted the same thing (those website review links) for the 12th twelve already.
I got the point.
Anyway, there are times/situations N95 fare better, and situations where k850i fare better. So I can't say for sure which phone is better. Guess it is fair to say that both phones are on par, but definitely not the best in the market.

Oh man ... This must be really embarrassing for SE fan boys to have, as mib1800 posted, around half a dozen online website who's
livelihood and job(unlike plankgatan) is to review every new handset to trash the K850. Pretty harsh ... lol
But what's is really co0l is that the N95 is 9 months old and is kicking SE's CYBERSHOT latest and greatest ass! CYBERSHOT what? Who? Where?
I don't even want to mention the 'N82' for fear of having an SE and K850 fanboy passout!!

This is the most rational sentence I have read ( from a se fan??

) since...hmm...hmmm...blast..I cant remember when.
