Lots of SE's feature phones support wave files. And no, it didn't lag a bit, which I was really surprised about

I tried woth ,my HI fi, did not workçwih my radio alarm clock, ye sbut extremely low volume and it had to be placed directly ON the radio itself.

well thats great news mizzle! But last time i checked on k850i and w910i, it couldnt play high bit rate wav files.

It transmits your music as FM radio so that other devices equipped with a FM receiver can pick it up. Thought it was obvious.
That way you can transmit your music to virtually any stereo/hi-fi system or even another phone. To multiple devices at once, too.

Suppose your traveling in a bus. And the guy next to you has his ipod with portable speakers and bothering you, what you would do if you had w980 was to turn on your walkman transmit it thru the fm transmitter , ask the bus driver to tune into that frequency and keep it loud!
Thats one of the applications of fm transmitter

. Its great for sharing your music.

As FM radio, yes.
You start playing a song, choose a frequency and start transmitting whatever's playing on your phone.
Simple as that.
