Thanks etaab for the comparison, on these shots i prefer the rendering of the Satio, warmer colors (but not too much saturated).
The best think to do with satio is to reduce the exposure of at least -0.3 ev in dayligth shots.

guys, you got to remember that all of these phones (even my old W760) can take great daytime photos. So you are never going to see a huge difference in these conditions.
Even saying that, what you guys must also realize is that the N8 is giving you a very close to natural representation of what the actual scene looked like with almost no post processing noise or artifacts.
That is tremendously valuable, because
you can always change the N8 settings so pictures look like the Iphone4 or Satio. but you can never make Iphone4 or Satio pictures look "natural" like the N8.
Where the N8 shines, and most of these comparisons fail to show is any kind of low light/night time picture comparison.
This is where the N8 will blow away the competition due to its larger sensor.
Its not a the daytime pics we really should be comparing, its pictures where the conditions are not ideal.
This is where N8 will blow away the competition. IMO[ This Message was edited by: jake20 on 2010-10-17 17:51 ]

Yup, Satio's colour rendering is more accurate. Nokia always give cold photos.

Also lower the EV level like HxH said, a notch or two to improve colour saturation. Turn off the image stabiliser, it makes shots blurry, and learn to hold the phone as still as possible before hitting the shutter key and a couple of seconds after.
THX!

Whenever a new model came out, starting pointless debates how the new shot better than the old one. This is bullshit. To a large extent, good picture of each model in the same class depends on human experience. Satio is older, but still is exelent choice in fall of 2010.

Well, Etaab please check last couple comparison maybe it not correct one.
It quite wrong and difference focus spot to me
Yes the pictures are the correct ones from each phone.
Im glad of all your opinions. Ill let you all decide which you think is better. The Satio shots are very good but like Jake20 said, the N8 gives better true to life colours. For example in the last two examples you can see the Satio sky is paler and the grass is warmer with an almost yellow glow. From being there and being the photographer who took the pictures i can tell you the N8 took the more true colours.
Again the Satio took great pictures i would otherwise be very happy with but the phone is guilty of what most cameraphones do, give false colour rendering to make up for the shortcomings compared to dedicated digital cameras. The N8 illustrates this.

I can't find the original shot of both phone. I've found only the n8 original shot. For a comparison I need also the satio's photo at 4000x3000.
I'm waiting for night photos, indoor with artificial light and without light, to see the differences and the power of the flash of both phone.
Thanks

I have no example shots but i can contest the Satio has a more powerful flash unit. The N8 flash is good but weaker and illuminates less than the Satio. Still its usable and better than any simple LED flash. Ill post links to full 12mp images when i have time to upload them.
