Is it possible to buy a genuine battery cover for the play that is rubber coated?
Holding the X10 is so much nicer because of the textured back and also provides better grip.

I don't think ones exists but it should do. When you first handle the Play it's a bit slippery and heavy, I've bought a wrist strap instead though.

Nice. I have now noticed as the Play price has dropped to under £200 all websites have sold out. That tells me something that people thought it was too expensive before. Its a bargain.
