well somebody asked me this question on my blog on my post about X1's release.

"I you were to buy this phone from UK, when it comes out, and you have AT&T in the US…would this phone work being a UK phone by just putting a sim card in it?"

I think he means if he gets the phone from UK,whether or not this phone will work in US as they have AT&T in US by just inserting the AT&T sim.

Im not sure about this. I think X1 will be available as a stand alone phone and not in contract like the i-phone etc.
Will it be locked?

Any guesses on the price?

In regards to the question about a hardware button to change the screen orientation, checkout this vid at about 16:20!

I´m not sure if it is preconfigured or you can map it yourself... but good to know that there seems to be a dedicated orientation change button!

It does support handwriting recognition.

well I know it does, because all WM touchscreen devices do (and have since early PPC days) but I argued with someone a few pages who claimed that because a marketing website for X1 mentioned an onscreen keyboard but not handwriting recognition, that this means X1 won't have it.

So I offered to start a thread entitled "I am not as smart as a 5th grader" if I was wrong.

That's NOT something I plan to do, and wouldn't make the offer likke that for something I wasn't very sure of.

Well I was in doubt some days ago, but definately I am going to wait for C905... I don't know about XPERIA's stability. I will wait some time to see what people will say about it and how it performs with bugs (if any). Want also to know the same for the C905. And when the prices drop a little, will go for one of those...

I'm on the verge of giving up! I don't want to buy it on Vodafone because of the branding. I can't afford to buy it Sim Free for another few months. O2 told me 6th October, then end of October, end of November, next year. Carphone Warehouse (who also virtually begged me to get the iPhone instead...I don't think so!..) tried to convince me the official release date had been set back, then said that they may get stock tomorrow (think he was just saying that to shut me up at that stage).
