Honestly I think LTE will be a failure in the beginning, just like UMTS. Most people don't know what it is and don't need really that fast internet.

back when umts started casuals hardly used the internet for more then researches and email. but peoples viewpoint on the internet changed. web 2.0 made it cool to use the internet. so times change, we have a different situation and a different market.

HSPA with speeds upwards of 21 and 42Mbps on the downlink are coming to light. Why would one need LTE? But when the time is right SE will create LTE phones. They are probably in development as we speak.

HSPDA is nice, but in large cities cells pretty soon reach its limits and downloading gets pretty slow

931SH?
Actually, all Japanese sliders look like Aino, where d-pad is in the slider keypad as opposed to being on the same level as the screen, which is why I suspect SE Japan's involvement in the Aino.

It also(for me at least) explain a lot why SE of Japan have nothing in the summer docomo line.

i preferred the name IDOU more than SATIO. it kinda clicks in your head.
SATIO will be chased by users who brag about "my phone has more mega pixels than yours"
AINO will be for people who chase looks, rather than functionality. spare me the marketing junk of PS3 integration.
YARI, IF .. and i mean a big IF. marketed correctly, can generate decent stable cash flow for the company.

Yari while being the lower classman of the trio is the one that will get things going. Great design unlike anything SE has given(bar the backside but hell that usually can be ignored) perfect specs for being in the midddle and it will feature the newest facelift called A300 along with the new walkman which is just awesome with the styles. Its everything except for top notch 8MP cam sensor and it will sell. The other 2 I dunno people will feel ripped off when they see it doesn't have full touchscreen capabilities and see it as a gimmick and how freaking large it will be be and for satio well satio will need a miracle to make SE a profit.
the walkman on Yari is not new - and this might surprise you - it is the same recent one, but revamped to accomodate flash skins. so that's just a dressing.
Aino: the key selling attribute is - well how shall i put it - disfunctional
Satio: although it is a convergence device, still it's power resides in its cam specs. and for it to compete with Omnia HD in a fair fight, it HAS to have 720 P HD vid record (with slow motion feature 1/8 and 1/4)
i would really emphasis, that the walkman and the cybershot segregation in the past, was nothing but a marketing gimmick. nowadays, they have shifted to the "convergence" terminology. if you don't believe me, well, the very old K700 snapped pictures (regardless of the resolution, since the cam module of past days was limited), supported MP3 playback, and had video recording.
hmmm!!!!!

@apolloa: I live partly on the countryside as well. EDGE is all I can get here and only LTE will change that as it is much cheaper to build up compared to UMTS/HSDPA. Here in Germany especially Vodafone is very keen on new frequencies the government is giving away hopefully rather sooner than later this year. If all goes well Germany could have complete LTE coverage by 2011/2012. Ericsson already has a working LTE cell in Sweden so I just hope Sony Ericsson is not repeating the UIQ-phones diet plan: first no UMTS and never EDGE.

Cheers mate, I've heard of this LTE but not too keyed up on it. I doubt it will happen for a while? When the UK rip off merchant government sold the 3G licenses they made BILLIONS from the UK carriers in a bidding war, which was nice as our UK tariffs then remained high to cover it. So I wouldn't be surprised if their hesitant this time.
