Hmm, what Japanese OEM?
Sony published this info during the MWC...
Still, it's interesting how these two cameras will work together.

Long-term XZ2 review. GSMArena thinks it's a good phone, but not without its cons. No big complaints, just small ones. He's impressed with its performance, battery, display, UX, and maybe its camera.
But to be honest, I'm impressed with the phone's features other than its audio performance. I don't know, it sounds like my old Z3 has better audio quality both with built-in speakers and earphones. Or what if there's something wrong with my XZ2?

Even XZP is much faster than pixel Xl2 and yet they have the nerve to call XZ2 almost as smooth as original pixel. Google must be donating a lot to tech sites.
It's been a while since I took any of tech reviewers seriously.

^ Yup, Even XZP is faster than every phone that came in 2017. Xperia XZ2 slaughters its competition as of now. GSMArena is at its sane (as of now), not as s*** as before.

Interesting. Can you post the details about it?

They seem to be differentiating speed and smoothness there. I think with smoothness they're probably referring to how quickly the phone reacts to touch commands and the smoothness of the animations and interface. With speed to load apps and browse the web, yeah the Xperias are second to none.

Well yeah but they seem to be talking about the speed overall not overall smoothness of touch.

It's pretty clear they're not just talking about speed. If it were speed they would easily be able to say so by talking about opening apps and browsing the web. Here's what they say:
"And now the much-anticipated note on the hard-to-define concept of 'smoothness'. For the first time in the short history of our long-term reviews, we have here an Android device that reaches the level of smoothness of a Pixel. Well, almost, the XZ2 isn't all the way there, but it's the closest of any phone that has been put through the long-term review process.
That's high praise because even at this point in time there are competing flagship handsets that can't match the original Pixels from 2016 in this regard, not to mention their successors. We assume the Snapdragon 845 SoC used by the XZ2 has something to do with it, but it's also clear that the company has focused its software development on this concept of 'smoothness' more than its competitors.
'Smoothness' is hard to describe in words but very easy to understand once you have a Pixel in one hand and another Android phone in the other, and you perform the exact same actions on both in parallel. If you can't do such a head-to-head test, then you might not even know what you're missing. This is one of those things that fall into the 'once you know about it you can't stop looking for it' category."
They don't seem to know how to put it into words, but another way if say it would also probably be the snappyness of the phone. It's smooth, responsive, snappy... whatever you want to call it. I don't see that part being an issue, they just notice a level of smoothness on Pixels that other Android manufacturers haven't been able to attain but apparently the XZ2 is the closest.

Can anyone explain again the lack of 4K 60fps and QC 4.0?

I have seen many reviewers over hyping the pixels for no obvious reasons.
Sony are currently the fastest and most responsive phones on the market...
Check any youtube video comparison or whatever
Or do a real life comparison of your own..
Snappiness, smoothness or whatever sony is the best...
Xperia UI is very stock like but it differs in many aspects
It has the speed and responsiveness but with added functionalities..
For me sony has the best overall UI experience in the android world
Samsung is the most feature rich but it lacks the speed and responsiveness
Lg is somewhat of a middle ground between the two
Htc is somewhat like sony
But i dont find the ui interesting
This is from my personal experiences with these flagships
