Since
4K@60 require a shorter shutter speed and higher iso, inevitably there is a degradation in the quality of the image and more noise.
That is with OIS, with EIS is worse.

Hell, XZ2 even beats Pixel 2 XL in speed. Sony have got everything except marketing and good sales.
Yeah, I like Sony's UI so much (sure, it is because I am a Sony fan). Stock Android is just.. Too stock, Samsung's UI is a bit slow and I feel like in a couple of years, the phone would get pretty slow (I have some experiences with Samsung phones/tablets, but since Galaxy S8, they've improved their UI's stability a bit).

After using what? Just because they've done it on TV doesn't mean it's as doable on mobile. I have yet to hear an explanation of how touching the screen won't kill all the audio immediately.
Also, just because there are patents doesn't mean they'll be in an actual product anytime soon. Plus even if somehow, someway someone finds a way to do acoustic surface on mobile without the mere act of touching the screen screwing it up, Samsung getting some patents doesn't mean Sony couldn't do it.

Also what are the expectations for IFA? I don't mean a wish list/what people want to see, but what are we likely (or even guaranteed) to see? Presumably any speed up in improving their product line will be slightly longer term...

Sony uses oled from LG on A1E. But image is very different due to better processing.
If they licence AS to LG is okay, because they are already using it.
But they decide to allow Samsung to use on cellphones if they dont even say they want on own phones.
Samsung would not buy it just to keep stanby for years until they find a way to implement.
It is different of patents. You are protecting your idea from being stolen.
Does not mean you have to use it.
