They won't. At least not right now. In some time, perhaps. But for now, they are just going for UIQ.

Hmmm... even UIQ have java platform.
Think about tandem UIQ-Java-Linux in one package, that will be funtastic!

Wasn't the next generation of Symbian supposed to be based on a Linux core anyways.
Why isn't there any talk about othe SE best seller sucessors? W825 anyone? K610 getting AF or 3.2MP in upgrade and a 2.2" screen,maybe? I mean can't anybody spill One bean on something else for the change.

In my opinion the K610, W810, K750, all need replacing now. The K800i should be shrunk to sub K750i size. That would be some phone.

They all have been replaced although they are still on the market. The successor of K750 (if not the K800) is the K550. The W810 got replaced with the W610 and the K610's successor is W660.

Interestingly, in his N95 camera review, Eldar from M-R says that Sofia will be shipping in SEPTEMBER, a period that AFAIK wasn't mentioned before.
Also, he said that Sofia's mp3 player will have Walkman 3.0!!! (but as we know, Sofia will not be a smartphone)
He also mentioned that Sofia would be roughly the same size as N95;
although this doesnt make sense to me.
I really hope Sofia will be considerably slimmer than N95

But sofia isn't supposed to be WALKMAN branded, how can it carry WALKMAN 3.0?

Thats a new one on me too.

Its rumoured not to be a smartphone although the UI of the Z750i might give a clue as to what to expect.

Me too! Roughly the same size as a K610 which is a nice size, although I would want it to be even slimmer than that.

if Sofia will be out by September, then ann. will be too far from now if

is strict to it's new short-to-availability strategy...
any way, I hope Sofia will be out much sooner or at least having another high end phone, Smart or not Sofia or not, just getting too tired of K700 I'm using now after death of K750...
