That Z3 will gain Z2 sales.
The Z2 will get cheaper while it has the same specs and as far we know at the moment....it will have the better speakers too.

I guess with Z3 Sony is focusing on US market. Basically it's almost like a regional version of Z2. They just don't want the US costumers feel that they are not 6 months behind while they use almost similar internals to achieve higher margins to reduce the cost of entering US market.
