Things which I liked about iphone5 and something which I hope sony does it for their 2013 lineup

BSI camera for front facing camera
battery life (8hrs web browsing on LTE!)
Pocket able and easy on hands with reasonable screen size
7.6mm thin and light
The new dock connector which can be connected any way(but this one is impossible for other manufacturers due to the standard which is micro usb)

I hope Sony will atleast put bsi front facing camera and improve battery life for their 2013 lineup!

Do you really believe that they can get 8h 4G web browsing with a 1440mAh battery?

Seems legit, as 3G iPhone 4S could only do 6h56min web browsing

Just sharing mine, what I liked in iPhone

Effective dual-core (32nm HKMG from Samsung, I guess)
3 microphone supported wideband audio
noise-cancelling system both microphone and earpiece
Sapphire crystal lens with new Apple's ISP
8MP camera sensor that 25% smaller from previous
(latest crop from Sony I guess, maybe same as in Xperia P?)

@HxH,
It seems to have a newer sensor. The picture quality isn't that much of an improvement. But its still remarkable for a 7.6mm thick device.

@Dacha,
I dont know whats the battery capacity in there, but its usually around the mark and sometimes even higher if used at lower settings.

@fjcarlsson,
8hr on 3g as well as lte.

@mogoo,
I was discussing this as I want certain things to be offered by sony too. They wont make it this year, but hopefully next year.

Does anybody know what TYPE of NFC is used in the 2012 Xperias?

The Xperia NFC tags are so expensive.. I'm trying to find alternatives, but apparently there are specific types. Not sure if it even matters but I don't want to waste my time ordering something that won't work.

No windows phone 8 from sony

"Sony Mobile’s President and CEO Kunimasa Suzuki has quashed the rumours saying that “we have no current plans for it.”

He reaffirmed that the focus will remain with Android despite conceding that Sony’s market share is steadily shrinking. Suzuki plans to address this by bring products to market faster and increasing transparency between the different departments within Sony. “All devices are connected to each other, so we need a more horizontal organization” said Suzuki.

Suzuki went on to say that the reason why some manufacturers are diversifying operating systems is due to the patent threat. However, Sony has no such concerns given the vast patent portfolio it has, along with the rights to Ericsson’s patent library. “We are not afraid of lawsuits, because we have an extensive portfolio of intellectual property rights,” said Suzuki.

Xperia Tx uses 1.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 Dual Core
Xperia SL uses 1.7 GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 Dual Core

Sony for example, operates the Playstation game console with its own software. "Maybe we'll turn it into an operating system for mobile devices," said the end of February Sony boss Hirai Kazuro the "Welt am Sonntag". These plans have now apparently rejected.

NO PLAYSTATION OS PHONE ALSO

For now android is the best option as they cannot create and market new os with the losses they are bearing. But, In the long run they will need something of their own... Being heavily dependent on google can result in a backfire. If you guys have seen the moto event you will realise where google's heading. Each company after all thinks about its own profit.

I doubt Microsoft would allow Sony to put their Playstation suite on WP8, which is probably why Sony ain't going to put WP8 on any of their smartphones. If they do though, I guess it would be cool.

Right now though, Nokia Lumia is the posterchild for WP8.
