no, unfortunately not.

a short press enters that digit for dialling

otherwise, pressing and holding 1 gives you voicemail
any other press and hold takes you into contacts

Thanks for the quick reply masseur! So the only way to navigate on the M600i and the P1i is using the touchscreen and the jogdail.... and the shiftbuttons can be used to switch between tabs.

Wouldn't it be a great idea if the 2 button could be used for up, the 4 for left, the 6 for right, the 8 for down and the 5 to select, to navigate the menu's.

But still.... I think I've made up my mind..... I'm getting a P1i. Let's hope O2 is right about that july release date (or even august would be fine).

I've enjoyed every minute of my M600 and to tell you how much I use it... my phones are normally spotlessly clean with no marks until the day I sell them, but the M600 is really starting to show some signs of wear and tear!

this is a great product ilne and I'll be continuing down this path as long as SE keep bringing us new models in this form factor and keyboard

When do you think it will be available in the UK sim free? on the o2 web site I see under coming soon it says July, no mention on the carphone warehouse web site yet though.

I think I may well get the P1i.

A lot of people are talking about a July release, but as I understand from reading MR's Review, it is coming out in September. Anyone else have any inside scoop as to when they might release the unlocked version?

@Eric's Son

Sorry but you are wrong neither the P1 or W960 have HSDPA only k850 will and both are these are still Symbian 9.0. I also agree with Makbil whilst the extra Ram will be very nice it is not the miracle cure IMO that some of you believe either.

I have already said as much as think both of these devices look great the fact they don't support HSDPA and are still using the Nexperia 208mhz chip rules them out for me and also i am less than confident in SE especially after there recent actions.

The Phone House in Sweden ( I work there ) has got this confirmed aswell..

Has anyone heard whether T-Mobile UK have the P1 scheduled for release, and if so, when?

I was at CommunicAsia on the 19th and played with the P1i. There were two screenfuls of apps running in the background but the interface is still very responsive (just a little short of fluid I guess). The person I spoke to mentioned a mid-August release locally (i.e. Singapore) but did not reveal pricing details.

If there's something bad to be said about the P1i, it's the significantly shorter 0 / spacebar key that's just the standard key size. Having grown accustomed to how I can rest both thumbs on the edges of the spacebar on my Siemens SK65 and now the P990i (coupled with my brief experience on the M600i), there simply isn't enough space on the reduced 0 / spacebar key. If I am going to press it with my right thumb, I'll need to shift my left thumb away (mid-air?) and vice versa. Also, I read somewhere that they are going to make the keys more concave like how it was done in the M600i but this was not the case for the P1i I tested: it is a little flat but still as usable. I would have preferred the M600i's keyboard over the P1i's even though both are functionally similar.

Oh yeah, that P1i firmware I was playing with is R6D22. The models there are branded P1i as well instead of SE123, and the same goes for the System Information screen.

That's what I said. But they are Symbian 9.1 not 9.0.
