Just upgraded.

It seems way faster. Media player is fast as well.

Now i get WVGA widescreen video recording option.

And a new media server application icons (dlna).

Conversations has been add right below new message in messaging.

The web browser se homepage page is now different.

Also, when viewing in full screen the bottom icon on the right is now proper and not broken (icon to click and get out of full screen).

I updated my Satio to the new firmware and I do not notice many differences.

I tested the WVGA, and the quality is pretty good! Check this sample I made:

In general, the UI does not seem faster and I noticed a few minor graphic bugs: when entering in the menu and in the camera. The media browser seemed a little bit faster though.

The internet browsing seems faster and smoother.

Took some photo samples but did not notice much difference. I'll take a few more tomorrow with better light conditions.

anzalrahman...

its working now, deleted the patch using mass storage mode and then restart without memory card, placed it later and its working, DO WE NEED TO DO THIS EVERYTIME WE SWITCH ON THE PHONE?

I'll make some tests later with benchmarks and audio tools to see whats better now...
The games are clearly smoother now(ferrari GT and Lets golf),java a lot faster too and more stable now... This is what i've tested for now.

I've just done the update (UK unbranded).

I followed the instructions as per this thread (memory card out for update).

Thanks everyone for your advice.

helloOx2 is still working fine for me, rompatcher patches are still auto enabled after start up. All my settings and apps are still there working as well. (Ovi Store, Nokia Maps etc, etc).

I'm not interested in the Vivaz homescreen, I think the Satio is just about perfect. I don't want a fishtank on my homescreen!

This latest update is fine. Faster UI and all the promised upgrades.

I think it's fair to say Sony are getting there with the Satio, all be it slowly. Not forgetting we need to hack to get the best out of this phone.

The hardware is superb, camera excellent, Sony are dragging the S60 v5 towards respectability step by step, we give it the apps boost it needs via the hack. Sorted.

If only they could fix the basics in the next firmware update.

Lets be honest, we all agree on the things that Sony should be able to fix easily with firmware updates, god knows why they don't........

I reckon:

- Ridiculous predictive text bugs (word changes and dictionary).
- Sound in video recording is too low.
- Speakerphone volume too low.
- Search function in media app.
- Equaliser in media (music player) app.
- RDS for the radio.

These really are basics and shouldn't be challenging. Everything else we can fix with hacking and apps.

Things that are annoying but I can live with.

- No kinetic scrolling throughout the whole phone.
- Poor battery life, I think we're stuck with it!

If these things are all sorted then surely we've got the best S60 phone on the market. At least the best S60 cameraphone??????????
