You can get JPEG without Sony noise reduction using Snap Camera. It is same as RAW. And it is just one limitation. The real problem is noisy sensor. Look at my SXP shots

You can make better i think, but it is near impossible from this noisy sensor. Only if you really like Sony noise reduction.
But i think, that it is best from Sony so far.

Are these from this custom camera?
So they look like sh..t because they are actually not focused properly. And the colour is terrible.
It's the worse I've seen from this phone and I don't believe it's even close to it's real quality.

Your shots look like the lens is broken or the lens is dirty.
Seriously.

heh.. doministry damn man. don't be so harsh!

the stock camera actually produces stunning photos in good lighting. even in low light you can get pretty good photos. holding the phone steady, settings, lens is clean, etc. these all matter. i haven't had any real time to test the camera in as many conditions as i'd like, but i will at some point.

all i know is a 3rd party app isn't going to magically make everything better. the only thing a 3rd party app will do is give you different controls, but even they are limited to whatever sony sets for the camera2 api.

You do not understand. This is RAW saved as JPEG without noise reduction and sharpening. Good it or bad this the second question. Many users ask to has it and this it.
It looks slightly out of focus because of NO SHARPENING, lens or matrix is ok.

It is possible to get more sharp in settings but it is too noisy for me because of small sensor with too high resolution
Samples from GSMArena is nothing special, just tupical Sony in good light conditions. The most profit from RAW to JPEG is much more details and very good color at low light.
But again. NOISY

Noise level and left corner softness is the only problem at XP/XZ camera for me.

Sorry for my bad english i hope you understand my opinion.

I understand your opinion.

What I'm saying is Sony's app is giving a pleasant and sharp results.
The shots you show are terrible. They may not have the Sony's sharpening,
but definitely have different algorithms created by other cameras makers,
which are - in my opinion - just inferior. Especially this street photo above, full of artifacts.

I don't care about the noise, I prefer to have sharp photos. With great dynamic range and colours.

This is not different algorithms, this is with or without Sony postprocessing.
For me, i can live with high noise level, but i really hate Sony noise reduction. It is killing details and white balance.
We have totally different preferences

What you should do is make some comparisson photos between the stock app and snap camera in the same resolution so we can see the difference ourselfs!

Sure what you are doing now is good, but we need to see side by side photos of the same objects. Take photos with alot of detail and so forth Xenia!
