With POP3 there's sometimes an element of lag, in that you need to manually retrieve mail, wait for it to open, etc. With Push, depending on the app, it'll forward and open it in realtime. Also, it's not restricted to POP3 but also supports IMAP4, which some ISP-hosted servers don't. Also, Push can be configured to give you an alert, can be paused, etc so that it auto-updates at a later time. All-in-all, it ain't shabby, Nige

I don't use push mail.On the other hand I make extensive use of Instant messaging.Push mail is something between normal email and IM.JABBER's mail messaging comes closest to push mail, that is if you know jabber. A very nice feature I use with family members (and a few close german friends) is Agile Messenger PushToTalk feature. That is trully the cheapest way of simplex (one at a time) voice chatting with anyone in the world. At around 100kb a minute voice works out to 20cent (SA) per minute anywhere anytime.(worked out if one pays 2Rand/Mbyte) On another note - Apparently Nokia (only rumors for now) will announce shortly a new S60 device (N93 or 95) with 3MP 3xOptical zoom cam and a full house digital video recorder (25fps) One of my Finish IM buddies mention a N92 successor a week or so ago,but I only decided to post the news here after seen a similar tread on this same forum.Greetings from Jeffreys Bay. Mario

@mario: The spy pics were posted in the rumour thread.
The N92 is going to be massive, as in size... The N90 with all it's gimmicks is already proving to be a hard sell...in the same breath a few fools have been known to part with bucketloads of cash for it.

The Koeberg maintenance shutdown has affected us as well... Widespread systematic blackouts, so driving through traffic a few minutes ago was such a joy! It usually takes 15min from school to my buddy's IT office, today it took me just about an hour. To cap it all there was a truck stuck slap-bang in the middle of one the busiest intersections, while the driver called for assistance on, get this, a phone with an aerial! Nokia 2110, nothing less!!! Looked more like a two-way radio!
Charlie Alpha, come in, come in, this is Charlie Bravo, over

Today I'm out at Stellenbosch University for a day-long investigative journalism seminar and the power outage lasted for about 4 hours this morning.
Please keep me updated with cricket score.
