W800's users are not being ignored... I own a W800 and I've update to R1AA008 3 weeks ago... If you can't do the update it's probably because of your operator (your w800 is branded?)

@sar12: The R1L0002 in my opinion and for most of people here is the best firmware yet. You should keep it

About the hissing sound in R1AA008 (when making phone calls).

I have mailed SE about this (even called them) many times in the last couple of weeks since I found out about this annoying problem, but they don't listen ... they say there's no such problem ... instead they say it's my network provider that has a bad reception. Well, how can that be when all other phones (even K750 with firmware below R1AA008) sound perfect in the exact same spot I'm calling from (using same sim card)?

Question (to SE): Why don't you just try it out and listen for yourselves?

i took the time and sent a report/mail too, from the support page of sonyericsson.com.
please, ppl, anyone who has the hissing-scratching sound on phone calls - send the problem report too. the page is not hard to find - from main page support->select region->contact us->select "phones" from "by e-mail">select right phone model->describe problem, add your contact addr etc->send
when there are more reports, they will fix it faster.
so, if you have this problem, please send it from there. SE does not read this forum, and it is not official forum, so they couldnt care less, what is written here.

thanks for reporting it!

Once again, you operator didn't aprove newer firmwares, cause most probably there is an update for your phone's CDA...

Thank you guys.
The thing is, i have been using W550i for 1 week n then switched mobiles with my friend. But the w800i is not nearly as good as W550i when using it as mp3 Walkman and even the software is much faster. So i thought it might be good 2 update my software 2 increase sound quality and software activity speed.

Was I wrong? So should I finally keep it?

It's not that W800 users are ignored, but it seems that the new firmware is available at least for all unbranded K750s, while it's been released only for a few of the W800 customization. My generic EU3 unbranded W800 for instance still has nothing newer than R1N.
I just don't understand how Davinci can have the EU3 files, while they're not yet available through SEUS. Why would they want to give the new firmware just to random groups for weeks now (the Swedes get it but the Germans or Belgians don't)?

@happykhan (& all others concerned)

I went to SE Service Center here in Manila (my problem was "error in script" during the last bar of SEUSII resulting to a half updated k750), anyway, they fixed my phone! they just reflashed my phone to the latest firmware and it was fixed.

The people from SE told that the firmware that I have downloaded maybe corrupted that's why the error during update.

Hope this could be of help.

Seasons Greetings to all!

hi there! mi from manila too.. had the same probs with my upgrade of R1N035, used SEUS I, all was updated except cam, twas version 4.4 not 4.5 thats why theres this error. i brought my K750 to G3. they told me it was a board failure... sheeesh like i was.. doh?! this was a brand new phone for cryin out loud. they told me that if they do make upgrade the thing is.. it will just drop dead in a long while. freaky isnt it... they were the makers of the phone and yet they issue you that comment. anyway.

my point is... "wala lang silang masabi!" kaya nila sinabi yun. they always treat their clients as dumb as they are. wot i did was to upgrade via DAVINCI and theres no freakin board failure.. miracle isnt it? (ive upgraded to R1N035 via DAVINCI not SEUS I). i really want to shove tha fon right in their kissers... so the story continues... R1AA008 now available... tried updating via SEUS 2. luckily my fon went thru the whole process.. not a glitch not a snitch. so now my fon is in R1AA008 from a DAVINCI upgrade of R1N035. now how can that happened if my board has failures right?

oh well just reacting to those SE people in G3... such a pain in mah buhind. i congratulate you tho.

Merry christmas to all!

I just updated my phone (w800i) today using update service II. All went ok and now i have diff. languages to choose from uncluding Tagalog which is really awesome.

But one problem i found so far was that when i tried to adjust the ringing volume and display brightness from the settings, the gauge bars are all BLACK which i think is not right. Though the volume from the media player seems to be ok. I already tried changing my themes and still the same.

Is this a bug or just particular on my phone?

By the way, I updated my phone from previous R1N035 firmware.

pare! back-up mo ung fon mo.. tapos mag master reset ka.. kahit nde all basta reset lang.. or just sinmply turn off the phone and turn it back on pagkatapos ng bente segundos... at iyon ay babalik sa dati.
