Based on current info and imo, world devices for 2016 (not only for japan or selected courtiers like z3+/z4):
MWC - z tablet, z ultra
IFA - z, z compact, z premium
As in 2015 with the exception of z ultra at MWC because leaksfly mentioned that z ultra is the first sony device to be tested with s820.

I hope this year I will buy the Z5 Ultra
. After the update to lollipop Xperia Home Launcher loads slow and icons tend to appear one by one. I guess 2 years is the optimal usage period for a smartphone.
Anyways leaksfly should mention more about this phone
. Could be a testing unit since 6.44 chassis is easy for prototype usage.
We have leaksfly and

In a recent interview with german Newspaper "Die Welt" Sony Mobile Chief Hiroki Totoki said that he hopes to finish the "Transformation" this year and thinks that the mobile business will grow in two years.

They don't have 2 years, and he knows it. Sony is losing $1 000 000+ a DAY just to keep the Mobile division afloat. They have 6-8 months max, and then, without a single doubt in my mind, they will go the way of Vaio.

Not according to Totoki, he said the division has always been good with cash flow. According to Zomg, all their lost are mainly write off, its true that they are not doing gangbusters but the fact is the mobile division bringing money in every quarter. Lost report are all write off.
Edit: I think I recognized that name...

Ebato and her predictions and info are both equally credible as Nodar's info.
As a matter of fact even Nodar is more credible than Ebato.

Sony cannot let go of their mobile division.
It is unthinkable that a major electronics company could let go of the only market that looks like it will be around for another 20 years at least. In terms of technologies (not Sony divisions) TVs, music players, camcorders, DSLRs will all disappear before from mainstream usage before mobile phones.
What might happen though, is that Sony lose so much global market that they must shrink back to Japan and strong regions only. We see other Japanese phone divisions do just that. It will be a shame but they wouldn't sell off the division like they did with VAIO.
Vaio was sold off because the mainstream laptop market is dying a slow death. iPad Pro, Samsung's Pro tablet and others coming to market will ensure that mainstream personal computing will be on tablet type devices. Of course there will be a niche and business market always but it will be a tiny fraction of what it once was.

Oh please...
http://www.theverge.com/2015/[....]n-quarterly-earnings-july-2015 Can't find the link to Engadget article where they've calculated Sony Mobile's daily loses. And don't get me started on Totoki.
Ebato and her predictions and info are both equally credible as Nodar's info.
Predictions? I merely posting the facts. And as of "her"... well, different strokes for different folks, yet I'm surprised you keep speculating on my gender, because you're completely wrong. Just sayin'
Vaio was sold off because the mainstream laptop market is dying a slow death.
Lenovo will disagree while they keep laughing all the way to the bank with Sony's money.
Sony cannot let go of their mobile division.
Time will tell. And even if they don't kill it, I see them retrenching back to the home shores and the select markets like India, where xperia is still popular for some weird reason. Considering they are now out of top10 android manufacturers (as of may 2015), I don't see a point in their future existence on a global scale. If the business keeps loosing money, you either cut the rotting limp, or let the shareholders make you a new asshole. I don't think Kaz is up to that kind of experience in his future tenure. I see them keeping the TV branch going for a bit longer than mobile, but regardless, the next quarterly report will most likely determine the future of Sony mobile as we know it.
