hi all - new to all this
regarding davinci is it worth doing this and is it easy to do??
i just got a orange uk branded c905 today and hate the orange stuff on it.
is it easy enough to do for a newbie-any help would be great
thanks
I'd say it's woth it! But i only used Da Vinci to flash to an earlier versio for my K850. But i think that a firmware should be free of any freakin' branding!
I'm not english-speaking though so it took a couplae of minutes to get it how you go about to reflash. But once you get , it's a walk in a park!

So i recommend it!

It is worth it to remove branding, because the original SE software is so much better, but beware that any debranding, modding, or opening up of your phone will void your warranty.

anyone can confirm the FIRMWARE performance out of the box?!
they all say that there is no available firmware upgrade from SE for C905. and coming out of the box, the firmware is lousy... well thats what they say..
the only resort you can fall into is KK... can someone confirm this?!
muchos gracias amigos!

Got the C905 today, it's the best SE phone I've ever had, I got it for a fantastic price, $525 USD. Will do a writeup after I use it a bit.

Man, Sony Ericsson really need to sort their facts out:
From the C905 advertisement
seen here:
"Now you can print your photos as big as you like with the new 8.1MP C905 Cyber-shot phone..."
And from the press release about that advertisement (a press release for an ad?!)
seen here:
"Upload photos to your own online blogsite or print your photos with fantastic resolution, up to A3 size"
Come on SE, which is it? A3 certainly doesn't say much for the quality of the C905, as my Sony T2 is 8MP and can do A1 size (at least) in good quality, but then I certainly can't print "as big as I like" with my T2 photos so I doubt the C905 can...
You can always print "as big as you like", that doesn't mean it's necessarily gonna be good quality. I can print my K700 VGA pictures as big as I like, but because the resolution is only VGA, I'm only going to "LIKE" them when printed at 6x4 maximum. So, 6x4 is "as big as I like". Get it?
And imho, A3 is pretty large to print a camera phone picture and still "like" the end result. If it can print that large and still be good quality then I think that's bloody good.
It's massively expensive to print at A3, most people who would print at that size either have an A3 printer (which itself is several times more expensive than a standard A4 bubble jet but still way cheaper than a photo kiosk if you alrady have the printer), or they are a professional and wouldn't be bothering with camera phones anyway.

mm lets hope that is the case...
my friend who also have a c905 have issues with the slider after one week of use.. when slider is out it feels loose/wiggles sideways.. =/
that also triggers the microswitch so that the phone locks/unlocks/locks and so on..every time you touch the slider...
(i personally haven't (yet) noticed any problems with mine.. =O)
/H
I don't believe that for a second, sorry. The slider mechanism doesn't work like that. The phone locks when the slider goes down, and only when it's half way. An open slider would have no effect on locking the phone.
He can't have had the phone for a week yet anyway.
