The model number still unknown, but yes I suspects it will be SO-01L (due to K family now too long), and maybe 801SO and SOV39 too

I don't think you need to use the number of cameras to differentiate between the two - size alone is enough of a differentiator. People who want a bigger phone can get the bigger one. For people who are basing their decision on price, okay some might be persuaded to get the more expensive, larger version to get dual cameras, but I think more people will base their decision on size, and in that case no amount of extra features will make them get a bigger phone (because it's too big for you!). On the contrary in fact, it makes them feel like they're getting ripped off and getting and inferior product (which they are). This strategy might work to a degree for Apple and Samsung, but that is because a lot of people who buy Apple (and to a lesser degree, Samsung) would never even consider another phone, so if they want the dual cameras they "don't have a choice". With Sony, most people will just buy another Android device instead, which is the same size as the "regular sized" version, but does offer dual cameras. They could just reduce the price difference and put dual cams in both... but obviously it's easier for them to fit it in a massive phone in the first place. Also the "regular" sized iphone is A LOT smaller than the "regular" sized Xperia, so Apple have more of an excuse (as there's a greater differentiation in size)

@spektykles are you able to comment on whether the renders in that link are accurate? Or on whether the dual cameras will be reserved for only XZ2 Premium sized devices?

Also @Moe87 - I think Android 9.0 at launch is pretty much a given.

@spek Has Sony decided which places get the Premium?

So far none of the phones with 4K@60 could apply EIS. Even with OIS videos shake a lot.
Looks like Sony made wise choice.

I love the fact that all the key names refer to the light. That reflects Sony's commitment to improving their cameras from now on.

Akari = Light
Apollo = The God of Light
Aurora = The Goddess of Dawn, and the natural phenomenon that we all know.
Akatsuki = Dawn

The name AUBE for the new processor also means DAWN.

Without a doubt, the Akatsuki model has dual camera.

No Premium for whole America continent? 😢
I dont want to buy without warranty.

Even if H84 has M.E.D , it is not enough to choose it over XZ2.
I bet it is 18:9 too.

Does this belong to which device?
