@Brix. About the thieves.
Today in the morning a friend called me to tell me a confusing story. Accordingly thieves got into his home and they cleaned the lounge, leaving sofas and wall unit only, they took a tv, dvd player and dvds and music system. What is more confusing, all this happened while they were asleep in the same house. His younger breother was sleeping on a sofa. Nobody heard anything untill the culprits were gone.

I truly can't explain this, it is just impossible for a four roomed house and with six people and noone heard a thing. It was raining, but someone could have heard something.
I wonder how did that happen.

This is one story that is keeping me restless, especially now with a lot of work and little rest.

I recall an incident when a former colleague of mine, Allister Coetzee, who is now involved in coaching the Springbok backline, had his home burgled while he and his family lay sleeping.

Because of his involvement in sport, prominence was given to the case, more so since a large number of sporting memorabilia was taken. Rewards were offered, etc although the items weren't recovered, as far as i can recall.

What i do recall, however, is that the police forensics guys were of the opinion that gas had been pumped into the house, thus ensuring that the occupants were near-comatose when the actual burglary occurred.

I have become spoilt here.Too spoilt.Today I bought a THIRD phone,to use in conjunction with my Orange PAYG sim. This network has promotions like Orange Wednesday 2-for-1 movie tickets and other freebie promotions, but still not cheap enough PAYG rates to use as a primary or even secondary sim.
Anyway,I bought a phone made by the manufacturer that I occasionally have a light-hearted dig at: Motorola.
Why?The phone was cheap at £19.99. The model: the new C139.
A basic colour screen. And one helluva battery standby time of roughly 450 hours!!!(apparently.)
I knew it had no B/T or IR,but then I expected it to have at least wap for a few personalised downloads...shame on me;I shoulda checked the specs of the handset on gsmarena or the hellomoto site more thoroughly instead of just assuming things.
Oh,I can buy the official Moto USB cable and driver for exchanging stuff/synching with the pc...for an extra £17.99...saak that!!!
I had the intention of getting a real cheapy phone, but the fact that I enjoy personalising my phones and this thing has like 3 pathetic wallpapers, monophonic ringtones etc. showed just how much of a fussy wanqa I have become,I guess.
Phoned my sister-in-law tonight and now she has a new cellphone as an early Christmas present to replace her rather ancient Siemens.

Tomorrow I'm gonna go check out the Panasonic VS6 at Carphone Warehouse.
£99.99 gets you a VS6 sim-free phone which has a 2mp cam plus video,16 million colour screen,Bluetooth,no flash or expandable memory(32mb shared),push-button flip opening,mp3-compatible(yeah, at 4mb per mp3,that shared mem ain't gonna go far...)plus a Vodafone PAYG sim which I won't use.
And 5 times more than the C139...so much for being satisfied with an 'el cheapo' phone to do clandestine work.

By the way,did you guys see the 2 new Nokias today?
The 6233 and 6282:

Yep, had a quick look at those phones. I love the fact that Nokia have finally realized that they need to up internal memory on their handsets. 70mb certainly aint bad... This message was posted from a WAP device

What other functions do you get with Mxit?

Its a application for a chatsite, u log on and visit chatrooms chat make friends and then add them as contacts, very easy to add contacts.... i got like 40 i think, can chat to contacts for free, but have to buy "moola" for the chatrooms, it was 1c per message but they recently raised it to 2c!!

as for server being busy, thats around 8-11 at night to many users the thing cant handle it so it rejects certain users...

u can add yahoo, msn and jabber contacts and chat to them as well for std gprs rates.... sometimes i dont even get charged at all even though im on for an hour or so... i dont know why...

i damn addictive, id say 80% of the users are arrogant indians but u can get around them... but theres different rooms for whatever u want... might be to young for you but its worth checkin out

786KBR: Maybe I should've been clear...How do you get into the chatrooms? Not that I want to chat with kids, just fascinated that this service has taken off the way it has.

Hostage @ home affairs

Did u guy hear this story!

I had that the papers and TV was somehow giving false report about this story.

e.g. some said the guy was 30 somewhats years while the guy is only 21. Luck enough we had the story first on YFM.

The big question is how many other storys are reported incorrectly?

@bongzino: Unfortunately many stories get reported incorrectly because of deadlines, especially in (music) radio which churns out news like it's bubblegum.

That story of the hostage drama was crazy, what's even more crazy is the fact that the guy's ID had been lying in a Pretoria office all along.

In the same breath though I should say Home Affairs has improved a lot...my passport was processed in about three months...my new ID also in the same time.
