That all i'm askin

@D-Southwest
X1 is neither a feature phone nor a Walkman phone. So the MegaBass setting probably does not exist on the X1. Possibly it is an option in the Sony media player panel
However, any decent third party mp3 player will give you an EQ that can be adjusted along with some sort of "pre-amp" stage (for cranking the volume beyond what the volume buttons allow). These two features are essentially the building blocks of MegaBass.

Well, would you take Zune software in it's place instead?... Here's an interesting article I read on Gizmodo that you all should check out. If true, and implemented some time in the immediate future, it would be really cool!

Anyone else notice that SPB shell is free for download on the SE panel page?... Nice!

I have a prototype, and it doesn't have any feature like equalizer, and no megabass here...

You will able to change the certificate colour soon.
Prototypes are brown , if you change it to RED you can use all the updates.
But since this is a Windows Phone (HTC) , am not very sure how it will work.

You should be able to find it's detailed specs and info at www.gsmarena.com. Just find the phone there.

OK sorry for that. In fact this topic has more than enough basic and advanced info about the X1.

I actually want to find something out from owners that noone else has mentioned so far. Now there are 3 things holding me back from going for the X1 at the moment:
- £500 is an extreme price to pay for a phone, even the contracts sound shockingly expensive
- No accelerometer (it costs so much, so why the hell not!?)
- 65K colour screen.

The last one is what I want to ask about. People keep going on about how sharp and bright and crisp the screen is, but what about the colours themselves? Try to separate this from brightness here. Brightness is something I can just increase on my current phone if I want and be happy, so I don't really care about that. But the colours: how well does it render gradients, for example, in practice? The last link to a set of screenshots I saw had very bad gradients on it. People still argue its alot of colours, but then you get some gradient come along and cut that into a bunch of ugly lines even when its 262k ( I suppose that also means you cant win anyway >D). So if anyone could comment on this once they have a device, that'd be great

Indeed, I cant justify that price for a phone/pda. for that price you can get a powerful notebook/laptop with 3g WiFi and bluetooth built in.

i purchased a WM6 device with full keyboard over a year ago (HTC), and less than half the price, the X1 isnt ground breaking whatsover but it does look nice
