Report i've heard is that the P990i has been rejected by all Uk networks for now hence it going back to a September release.

Not sure exact reason. On another forum I use a guy works for voda UK.

"the P990 was rejected by all networks, some kind of software fault. been put back to the 8th sept! sorry fella!"

I've just called Orange UK to ask when it will be available, and they are now quoting 22nd September. The upgrade is going to be free for me, so I just can't justify paying £600 now. ARGH!

a thought on landscape browsing and camera mode.
They should have orientated it the other way (for right handers anyway).
That way the open flip would be in your left palm leaving the right hand to use the stylus

Agreed, perhaps something they will fix in the next update hopefully.

Highly unlikely to be true - in fact "been rejected by the network" is rarely ever true - especially when it usually comes from phone sales people who are unlikely to ever know what really goes on anyway.
In most cases networks have been involved in a handset's development from a much earlier stage than now and their feedback goes into the development process. I can't seem to find the link right now, but a while ago on another forum there was a post from a guy who actually worked in the industry testing phones for a living, and he explained pretty clearly how the development cycle worked and why these sort of "rejected" rumours are invariably not true.
Network branded handsets can be delayed for a variety of other reasons however. In the case of Orange is is probably taking them a while to work out how to break the phones functionality with their own tat on there instead.
