make sure you have more than 2 GB MsDUO, as the US maps require 1.3 around GB.

You can get away with a 2GB card,
Tomtom installed on 2GB MS Duo with UK & WE & all US maps, full UK post codes & loads of voices will still leave you over 600mb on the card, i downloaded & registered all the maps i may need, that way they can be deleted off my mem card & reloaded from my pc only when they are needed, i just keep a list of the registraion numbers on my phone. so loading a new map for a foregn trip is a 5min job.

Mankeymonkey:

If you had the same problem as i did... Great News!!!

Tried a GlobalSat BT-338 this moring, and it went so good that i bought it
We (shopmanager & I) went out to the parkinglot and efter 1 minute my p990i got a correct signal AND staid there ... tryied it in my car home ... and itīs working great!! so thatīs your solution, get a GPS with the StarIII chip.

Very Happy

Hi all

My first post on here as I've just been told about this Forum - Superb.

Read through nearly all this thread (30 pages) buy just wondered if someone could re-post the thread to the location for getting the Tomtom 5 software?

Seen a few previous threads / links but just wanted to make sure I used the best one before having a go.

Sorry for being a wuss. - Just don't want to kill my P990 before Crimbo!

Cheers all.

The link to TomTom 6 can be found on this page half way up. You didn't read the last ones too carefully

TT5 doesn't work on his P990i hence he'll need TT6 As I say I doubt he's read the thread at all or that was a typo.

Sorry - Yes it was a typo - I meant Tomtom 6.

Yes I have read all the thread but thought the link 1/2 way up the page was for (Rapidshare) and was for something different (post by Johnex)

Apologies if I appear inept at this - I'm struggling with health & vision problems at the mo.

Sorry if I annoyed you with my first post - I'll read it all again later when I'm feeling up to it.
