i've noticed another feature

press 2 or more * , then press the back button on your flip . (it starts dialing)
the back button on the side reacts normal .

I received my P990i on 08.Sep at Istanbul Turkey,

I didn't have crashes at all . I found some bugs but most of them here were already mentioned. Yesterday I uploaded the newest version.

Now I have the following on my phone
Phone R7A001
BT R4F01
Org. R3B01
CDA R3B01

I see that some of the bugs are already fixed, but some of them still remain. Let's hope SE keeps on making updates. By the way after the new update I had 3 crashes so far ))))

CriminalA,

That's bad. So even the R4B firmware is exhibiting the same picture autofocus problem. So just what is going on here? Is it just the SE moles who keep saying how wonderful the phone is, or is there really a QC (Quality Control) problem with the P990i? In this case SE should look at replacing these faulty units, unless they can say that the quality is CRAP for all the shipping P990i models. In that case a refund is in order (for me at least).

By the way, where exactly is the "MADE IN" stated?

Success! Firmware updated to the latest R7A version. Running the phone through its paces to see what's new, what's fixed, and (hopefully none) any new bugs.

Will we be able to update the P990 OS to UIQ 9.3?

Hi

Many of the photo-issues is just user-problems.

The autofocus works if you have enough light and you have a steady hand. If you move alot, the cam will have trouble focusing on something and you will have a blurry focus, and even if you get a good focus it's still a problem wih movements when you take the pic. This is extra important when using the digital zoom. (when using the digital zoom you need more light to make the shutterspeed fast enough so that your movment's doesn't show so much.)

The better the light is the faster the shutterspeed is and that will help you from getting a blurry pic from your movements.

To take a picture in full zoom is the same thing as taking it with no zoom at all and then with for exampel photoshop, select the peice in the picture that you want to zoom in at and resize that upp to 1600x1200. You can't get a good picture out of this!

Pic taken with full zoom. You can read the text on the sign and it's on focus. This is what you get when zooming in with digital zoom.

This is taken indoor with a bit less light and full zoom.. I had to hold the phone really steady and failed with 2 pics before this one.
The focus is right on the motive and to make that happend I had to hold it steady and with the center of the pic to the motive. I had to redo the fucus one time.

Edit: Sorry, this was maby a bit off topic... But since the discussions about the fw and it's affect on the focus it's almost on topic.
