while I like the W880 in general, here are a few of thoughts I have so far which could be improved.

when in the walkman screen I would like to press and hold the return (back) button to return to the standby screen and let the player keep playnig. This is how it works on W950. On the W880 you actually have to select more then minimize but I would like to see some consistancy.

I feel they could have made the screen bigger. The walkman badge at the bottom is too big and they already have the waklman logo at the to next to the camera and earpiece. This would mean the keyboard could be a bit lower giving more height to the screen. They also could have made the screen wider as there is already room on each side.

When the player is minimised there is no control over the track, i.e. next/prev, nor a play/pause button meaning you have to go back into the walkman application to regain control of the music. of course if you are using a headset with this

thats all so far, otherwise a good effort from SE

Ok, how the hell you get offered a deal like that? I rang them up a minute ago and the person i spoke to said they could only offer the stock tariff options which are on the o2 website....

On my W900i, to minimize the player when a track is playing I just press the button again. When a track is not playing it just switches off and goes back to the main menu.

Pressing and holding the volume buttons slips to the next/previous track. Does this not work on the W880i?

yes, you are right on both counts. I haven't had a walkman phone since w800 as that really put me off and I guess I was expecting this to be consistant with the W950

ok so thats a couple of points answered

I use my 950 in exactly the same way goldenface described, so in one way it is consistant!

I find the W950 controls quite different. the orange button on the side plays/pauses and while its playing you haave the 3 extra bottons above the keypad active for next/prev track and volume is controlled by another button

although yes, if you press and hold the volume button it will change track but since we have the extra buttons on front I have never done that

True... true, but to go back to stanby screen i press the button then the buttons return back to 1,2 & 3. So i then use the volume buttons to control the tracks!

oh well, I guess we do things differently but I also guess I was a bit mistaken after all

still, the screen could have been made bigger!
