the good thing abut g900 is it has wifi and that cooll but the disadvantage is it runs Symbian OS v9.1 UIQ 3.0 . now ther is 9.2 uiq 3.1 and 9.3 uiq 9.2 or 9.3 i think ?? . I'm just waiting for the g900i to come in store its defently my next phone.

Well, this is true. However, you need the extra moment of unlocking the phone to be able to press any softkey button. A hardware button (like the one I have on the left side of my K800) is pausing/resuming music even if the phone lock is enabled. Very convienient!

Actually, Symbian smartphones typically need a baseband processor and an applications processor...hence the dual core architecture......so in the case of SE UIQ phones, EMP is the baseband processor and NXP is the application processor....This means even the W960/P1i etc all use EMP and NXP apps processors.
This wasn't always the case with Symbian phones; needing 2 seperate cpu's. Many today are so advanced they need dualcore.

doesn't NXP = nexperia? Just an abbreviation N (ne) X (x) P (peria) ?? Just curious as the defination of the NXP abbreviation is not given by SE or in any documention I've found or seen in posts, threads around the net.

unfortunately there is no gaurantee that HSPA (which simply is HSDPA + HSUPA combined) or other wild advancements will be combined in a Symbian phone.

You've answered your own questions with your own statements. Remember SE, jsut like Motorola, Siemens, and much better than Nokia is in the phone market to make money. BAR NONE! putting UMTS chipsets and abilities since the dawn of 3G was to get into the mass market - even at a cost - as the appeal of Video Calling just began some 3-4yrs ago. Smartphones didn't sell NEARLY as well as they did today. Now with HSDPA so readily available - I still believe UIQ's development has been limited in the G series via the choice of Symbian core OS in use - its not needed so much for smartphones with low application library. You can agree that UIQ's application library is dwarfed by S60. Most business users still use WiFi connections for corporate application usuage than 3G.
Windows Mobile likes to brag about the amount of sales it has over BlackBerry & UIQ alike. However if we focus on the amount of business users those numbers reflect they pale by comparison to BlackBerry, and Symbian based (S60/UIQ) together in the worldwide market.
HSDPA will not accelarate UIQ3 application library which helps drive UIQ device sales in the corporate market - G series focus. In the consumer market its bandwidth and mobile cloud services that drive the hardware sales or application development; ie Motorola Z8/10 with 3G driving SKY application and mobile TV service development.

in the review on GSMARENA it says that the price of G900 would be round 300€...isn't that a bit low...for a device with WLAN, 5Mpix, touch-auto focus....if it will be 300€...then with operator contract you could easily get it for like 150€...thats kinda nice...isn't it

However I still think that you are overestimating the appeal of HSDPA to business generally - most businesses (not all but most) still only use smartphones for email and light browsing - hell, even remote access or vpn to the office via laptop or pda is still more than doable on normal 3G so HSDPA isn't in my mind an absolute business requirement yet. (I use my K800 as a modem for the laptop - but I rarely miss my office broadband speeds when I'm out and about). Also because I have office based broadband, I can remote into my work pc from my K800/3G connected laptop whenever I want and use my office machine to manage large downloads (using my cable speed of up to 10Mbps).
In Australia, business use of mobile broadband is mostly utilised via usb adapters that support HSDPA, for use in laptops. Using one's phone as a primary source of connection is not really a common business mode. Maybe it's different in Europe, but I suspect it's not that different.

how odd that the white papers of G700 and G900 are still not avalible on the SE website...(ok I have the first version of them)...I think they are rewriting them...I hope the would not cancel to much of the bundled items...such as GPS enabler...

I hope nothing is removed from the G900 - feature-wise....cos i have my eyes on it,else might change my mind
