Mine gets a little warm but only when charging. As for battery why don't you buy the 2,000mAh official extended Samsung battery. Mine is arriving this week. It only extends the phones depth by 1.5mm. I got mine from Mobile Fun website. My battery now after a few good weeks use I easily get through the day. Though I don't play games

Just got my Samsung extended battery this morning. Have charged it up but it's gonna be too early to say how much better it will be. It gives the phone more weight for sure but makes it feel even more solid but as I said not that much thicker. I obviously got the white back battery cover as my phone is white. Rikken has one and he says he gets a good deal extra time. But it's so popular this battery sells out fast. Amazon says 1 to 3 months delivery. I would rather sacrifice losing the extra thinness of the phone for more battery time anyday. I guess Samsung never put in the bigger battery as it wanted to make more money and it would have made the phone less appealing to the public by not being super model thin

This is a genuine question asked out of pure curiosity - does the S2 struggle toget through a day without the extended battery? What kind of usage does the standard battery deliver (does android give you an x hours standby/usage since last charge figure?)
I hear some wild claims made about the battery life of one phone against the other and never entirely sure what to think.. My iPhone 4S comfortably gets through a day's average use (for me) but some scoff at that - others, including some unluckier iPhone owners probably envy it. I'm curious where the leading android phone sits on the battery scale these days.

My honest answer is yes. I get past midnight next day before it starts to warn me after heavy usage. I bought the extended battery just cos it gives me extra without sacrificing size. I seriously don't know how some people are just getting dead batteries by half day. I am not just saying this cos I love the phone. People tend to hammer their phones 24/7 with barely a rest and expect it to last for ages. I can honestly say the stock battery is fine

Sounds like they're probably about the same then really - if I really intentionally, unrealistically hammered the 4S with gaming etc it probably wouldn't make it through the day, but in normal use without any special treatment it easily gets past midnight and usually through to breakfast the next morning before it really needs a charge (although I'd almost always charge overnight anyway). I'm happy with that personally, it's no worse than my old 3GS managed (in fact better that old phone/network rarely had a 3G connection).
Some are having a much worse experience with the 4S still, and there is apparently another fix on its way for "battery issues", but I don't think I'm seeing any so it probably won't change anything for me. If the S2 is getting a good day's battery with that bigger screen too I reckon it's doing ok.

Well,in all honesty when I had the iphone 4 I got a days use out of that too. I had no complaints there. I have never had any issue getting through the day with any phone with the exception of one or two in the past.

I easily get a days use (3G activated, about an hour browsing, some texts, some pictures, an hour listening to music, a few short calls, screen brightness 50%, two e-mail accounts set to check every 30 min, push mail) on the stock battery

and the extended one gives a few hours extra
