Thanks for the details Ricky D I'm very impressed
Plus I can see you have lte, WiFi , Bluetooth? ,what's app, Sony cover? , and nfc on. Is that correct ?
And you don't use stamina mode or queue data. Jeez I should get 6-7 hours screen time on it then.
Thanks again.

Clears my doubt if still get it either way lol .
Anyways I recommend you post this on XDA if you have an account, it'll make people positive about it.

I don't have the Sony cover, the 'S' icon is the auto-launcher program that is prompting to make a decision on what the default action should be when connecting headphones.

Bluetooth I keep always on, LTE, wifi and location services too, but not always connected. One thing I don't do is use the handset as a phone i.e. I don't make calls, neither over data (Skype/whatsapp/wechat/etc) nor traditional.

I am indeed on xda, but don't really go through all the chit chat, only the dev stuff. One thing I am waiting for is a locked bootloader root method. I don't want to unlock the BL to find losing DRM means no upscaling or other fancifuls.

@ Ricky D
Hi, Ricky. Do your Z5P's finger print scanner working well? Pocketnow posted a video about how bad thier Z5P's finger print scanner is. I'm really curious to hear your experience.

The fingerprint scanner isn't perfect, it misses maybe 1 in 5, more if my fingers are greasy, sweaty or wet.

It also misses if my finger is only partially over the button, this may be because I didn't touch it like that when setting it up though.

The fact the power button between 'flush' and 'slightly recessed' doesn't help finger placement accuracy. I miss the old nipple power button, but the fingerprint scanner helps circumvent the pin entry nicely.

I'm still worried about rooting with LBL, Sony seems to make it very hard to do so, non of their 820 based devices made it yet ( that's Z3+, Z4 and Z5 )...

I'm not against unlocking the bootloader... I'm against loosing Sony's exclusive features... I don't care about DRM keys... basically If a guy bought a Sony phone then root it after unlocking the bootloader.. why he bought a Sony device from the beginning ?

The only thing will lift after this is a basic featured Android device with Sony design !! so it's better for any one with the need of rooting to go for a same spec. device from another maker ( specially Nexus as it's cheaper )...

I hope Sony works about this issue, they have the right to protect their IP, but this way is over.. there's other ways to protect it without sacrificing user experience and compromise security

They can do the same procedure to unlock the bootloader but just to root the device ( and keep the bootloader locked and the kernel intact ).. if the user want's then he can proceed with the more advanced way to unlock the boot loader and change the kernel if he wants...

No problem with the fingerprint scanner on mine, or indeed on the standard Z5 that I used for a few weeks before getting the Premium. It doesn't work with wet fingers though. The reviewer mentions about all the other people complaining online, but you'll find just the same type of comments for any other phone on the market with a scanner if you search.

Having said that, I have only registered one thumb and one finger, and I don't see the need to register 5 fingers. That's just inviting false positives.
