There's this app in the market called Quick Settings. It can enable/disable 3G/EDGE/GPRS (Mobile Data). Just hope it works on 1.6 cause it's really handy

Same here. Must be a Rogers lock out (I know they had locked to 3G on my old iPAQ). Hopefully debranding will open this up., as right now my only options are:
WCDMA only
GSM / WCDMA preferred

me too saltorio. I'll let you know if this changes after debranding, and i'm assuming it will.
the phone is actually quite smooth and responsive already! I am looking forward to the increased performance with the update to v16 firmware.
so far my impressions are "WOW"... i am so tempted to start customizing but there's no point if i'm wiping it out tonight anyway...

@saltoro and moogoo,
That is the option WCDMA only: means 3G only
GSM/WCDMA PREFERRED: means 2G or Edge/ 3G preferred
Another way to try to get GSM ONLY go into *#*# info #*#* (*#*# 4636#*#*)on dial pad...then go into phone info..scroll down to bottom, tab the WCDMA and see if you see a GSM only there
I was just defining the terms just in case someone else reading post didnt know.

Hi guys, got my x10 two days ago and when I first plugged in to charge, it just wouldn't charge (kept displayng "not charging" status). It really did worry me as I thought that's a good start!! Turns out that the either charger and/or cable were faulty. Took it back to Carphone Waerehouse yesterday and they initially said I had to wait for a replacement to come through. I was fuming as I knew they had some x10's in stock. It's a joke as I said I only bought it 2 days ago. I was just about to kick off when they reluctantly brought a new set of x10 and gave me the new cable and charger. That's after sale customer service from CPW for you!!
Anyway, enough ranting. I'm all new with this smartphone thing and a bit apprehensive what to do with it

I notice it doesn't come with any CDs. What softwares do I need to install to get the phone started? I mean to transfer all my phone contacts, music, calendar, notes from my previous phone??

I feel your pain. When i managed cpw in bolton, i found that the staff who were there before me actually knew NOTHING about the phones they were selling...seems you don't need to know anything about phones nowaday's to sell them...pretty much the same in other shops too...come across some right stupid
t@@t's...
