btw, if there are bugs, they will be evident straight away usually - it's not as if they sit there with a timer just waiting until everyone has bought the phone before they go off....

Exactly. My C905 is running totally fine (Apart from more issues with GPS settings!). When I bought the K850i, it was clear within 48 hours there were lots of things wrong with it.

So I got Wayfiner running, but now I get a message saying the GPS can't recieve a signal. Any ideas?

Another bug i might have found...

Tried to send a message earlier to a bunch of people (15+)

Went to messages, write new message.

Typed the message out, about 15 words in total so well within the 160 character limit.

I then selected the people individually that i wanted to recieve the message and clicked send.

Now on my old K850i it would then say sending message and the icon would stay at the top until the message had been sent to all recipients.

When i done this with the C905 though it said sending message, the globe icon came up and it sent the message to everyone as a multimedia message and upon checking in the sent items box it had changed my message to a multimedia type but with just writing in ?

I dont want to waste anyones text but could someone else maybe confirm if this happens on their phone ?

Cheers

Chris

Your C905 doesn't happen to be a Vodafone one does it?

Just what I was thinking - voda branded se's send mms's if you do anything other than write text (that includes adding smileys and sending to multiple people)

Wow, yet another reason to hate Voda's crappy firmware!

However, what has changed in the generic firmware is that if you add one of the built in animations, the message is converted into an MMS, this didn't happen on pervious handsets, they were sent as EMS's (i think thats the right abbreviation)

Really? Oh no, Sony Ericsson has gone the way of the Vodafone firmware! That's what Vodafone firmware has been doing for the last couple of years and it's awful.

People know what they want to send before they choose to do it, so how is it helpful to have it change to MMS? It's stupid. Especially when it has bugs like not being able to send animations anymore.

That seems to be the way it works now, all types of messages are all grouped together, and when writing a new message, it'll choose when it thinks you should change. It doesn't do it when sending to multiple people though, so thats ok.

I don't mind that much, as pictures messages come out of my allowance like everything else, but i can see how it will annoy people.

What internet browser is everyone using? Opera mini for me works great, but flash doesn't work on it. Any other good internet browsers for the c905?

Both the good ol' NetFront browser and Opera Mini.

It's a complete rip off, because it unnecessarily doubles the cost of sending group sms for most people. It's an unadulterated rort.

If the consumer watchdog was doing it's job, such a practice would be illegal.

Yeah, if I wanted to send an MMS, I would have chosen it from the menu in the first place. I click on send SMS for a reason!
