So they made it easier to hold by making it heavier and fatter. Lmao. As a die hard sony fan I find that joke really lame.besides just pretending that the FPS is in a natural position doesn't change the fact that it isn't.

That's what really got to me! How do you justify that extra thickness when there's no addition to it... As I mentioned before, Asus RoG can house a 4000mah in a 8.6mm frame where Sony's battery is substantially smaller while being 3mm thicker. Makes no sense to me....

Well I'm not even asking for 4000 battery. Just a better slicker design.

If any company can give you one day of average use with 3000mAh, then they wont give you more.
They will just take advantage of newer/better cpu to keep smaller battery.

But.....

How much money would they spend on modifications to fit a 3500mAh inside XZ2 instead of 3180?
Then how many devices do they need to sell to bring this money back?
All this does not seem that simple.

The cam is no longer above the screen, but behind it.
The is a setup of 7 lenses. Many phones dont have even 3 over the sensor.
I have no.idea if it is possible to make flat body with curved glass rear panel like the plastic back of Moto G2 or LG G3.

Iphone 8+ has less battery than XZ2c, if you count the ugly camera it goes beyond 9mm.

Like you guys I want a phone with at least 3700mAh and no more than 8.2mm.
But question is : aren't they good enough to do the job or was it physically impossible?

I currently use the XZP. A couple of days ago a friend of mine got himself a new XZ2 (on my advice) and I had a chance to play around with it. I was impressed:
- Its operation is butter smooth - noticeably smoother than an S9+ for example.
- Cam is impressive and I would definitely say it's one of the best smartphone cameras out there, if not the best one.
- Battery life is excellent (according to my friend and many reviews out there).
- The screen may not be OLED or 4K but it does look very good and natural.
- I was actually not bothered by its thickness. It felt good in the hand.

Now, I'm not saying Sony must stick to bezels and OISless cameras, but I find Sony to be one the few firms that don't fall to stupid gimmicks - just like with the upcoming dual cam: yes, it will probably take excellent BOKEH photos but that's not the real deal here, that would obviously be the new low light capabilities.

So, to those guys who comment here and can't seem to find one good thing about Sony, why don't you just get yourselves a Samsung, Pixel (an excellent phone actually) and move on? Surely having the 'Sony' logo doesn't enhance your experience, doesn't it?

Anyhow, I would definitely get the XZ2 if there would not have been an XZ2P and IFA just around the corner (to be honest, I'm still playing with the idea of getting one and selling it later on).

P.S. A photo taken with the XZ2

I was actually looking for some info about it and couldn't find such specs for other phones.
7 piece lens sounds impressive, but it's not necessarily better, isn't it?

@XPR
So just because we point out weakness of the design we should go for sammy or pixel? This thread is becoming like LGBT argument Where Just because you're straight you don't have the right to have an opinion. Nobody said XZ2 is aweful overall but it's damn sure not prefect so yeah get over it. Search my posts and you'll find me defending Sony time over time again but I'm not blind like isheep or sammy sheeps.if we were content with camera for example we wouldn't get monsters like XZ2P.The improvement in XZ2 camera algorithm is also result of criticism.

I wasn't necessarily pointing to you and I totally agree that it's important to point out flaws - but hey, a perfect phone doesn't exist and never will. However, after reading some comments here one could get the impression that the current line up is utter rubbish. I think it's the best one they ever had, but that's just me.

Anyhow, it was mentioned to me that Sony may unveil a surprise at IFA. I haven't got any idea what exactly but the source is reliable. We'll see...

Well Sony have been known to work on design kinks with each release so I think XZ3(XZ2s maybe?) will eliminate some of XZ2's design problems just like Z3 was a much slicker Z2. Man I would kill for Y design. Maybe it's next in line after ambient flow but who knows...

PS: Off-topic, anyone hyped for E3?
