No , the 4.4 is the original camera driver for the R1L002 firmware (mine is the Italian one from 2005), here the link :

There are some peps who DO like to see here some camera drivers even they are not perfect or flawless, and most of them I think will prefer to see something on topic.. at least 50%.

@ All .. the eror is given by the fact that OS read inside the driver in order to know what to show in service menu.
The problem can be correctly very simple:
1 step: replace in that driver this lines..
info_name=KNC 201 15;
info_vendor=Sony;
info_major_ver=4;
info_minor_ver=5;
2 step: in the driver search for seq_get_prop_0 = $s1 0x $s0 0x;
and replace the values with values $s1 05 $s0 03
AND IT WILL WORK...
Wiser.. next time you'll have to answer to this kind of questions.... smart ass!

as far as i can remember, the first batch of shots that ibe made with 4.4 in a low-lit environments... was eerrmm.. damn noisy... grainy... and very unkewl.
but outside.. it was superb. i think i may have to revisit this driver...
