Wondering what do people make of HTC's $ MegaPixel UltraPixel Camera in the HTC one?

^as pointed out by my brother(professional)it might take clear pics but they wont look great on high resolution monitors.(will look too small)also small size and less pixels will make for worse cropping and editing.they should have used 8MP with 1.8mc instead of 4MP 2mc.
for comparisonN8 has 12MP with 1.7mc size so its possible

yes true.. only big lens and flash position..
when compared to Z , only problem loud speaker , viewing angle and little process speed.. benchmark not big differences

HTC always lacked it. As many other manufacturers like Samsung, they are finishing or perfectionizing ideas of others.
And in this case, they chosen well. P was one of the best ideas, designs Sony threw around for years. Whitemagic display, aluminum body... the only downside was it had to had this "chin"to fit 2012 NXT series... (from design point of view).
HTC took their unibody idea design from Apple (iPhone) and went other way then Samsung. Samsung copied it all the way, but platic to make it cheaper.
HTC Sense is a complete copy of an old Shell that was available for Symbian S40/S60 operating system - SPB Shell. I used it a lot and the moment HTC came out with Sense, i thought, well a nice copy for Android...
I must give credit to HTC for going with a smaller screen. 4.7 is in my opinion the maximum for a mobile. Of course Xperia ZL can prove me wrong here, with smaller dimensions as HTC One and having 5inch screen.
Anyway for me the ideal is still 4inches screen for a mobile phone. Currently there is no high-end offering anything like that except iPhone 5, which is according to me a big failure by Android OEMs and they practically cleared the ground for Apple, misled by the Galaxy SIII success. Hope Sony will throw something this direction on MWC
4Mpix camera is a big step in a wrong direction imho. Lack of details no a screen that has 446 dpi, that is a big big mistake. The pre-production samples lacked a lot of detial and were looking awfull on a screen with much less dpi.
Overall HTC One cannot really be compared to Xperia Z, despite having newer chipset. There is simply no app/game/reason to use all that power yet. And XZ has much much better looks and practical functions.

LOL. You call that 4.7"?
The Z is only around 2mm taller and wider. It better have AMAZING speakers. Otherwise, that size is just wasted.
