does w850i have the cool effect themes that w810i has? or is it simply changing the colour and wallpaper?

yes it has flash themes and the walkman player is integrated into the themes when it is playing.

What do you mean by "integrated"? Is it that the player's colors change, unlike that in the previous versions where it's stuck in orange?

hey all

pretty new here but i just been reading up on the w850 and it looks great. im well overdue my o2 upgrade but really wanted to get the white version. however, i noticed that over on the voda website it says the white w850 is exclusive to them!!!! has anyone managed to get a white one from o2?? i know three had some but have sold out now.

sad to see o2 have started sticking 'o2' on the phone...was just a matter of time i guess

great forum by the way

As far as i know O2 just have the black one for the minute, not sure if they will be getting white. I usually like white phones tbh but in the W850i's case i really do prefer the black. Was in teh voda store today and comparing my black one to a white one and the white just looked really tacky, i really dislike teh gold too, i mean i know the W850i aint exactly the most subtle of phones but the white really screams chav

I think he means that if you're running the Walkman app and minimize it, the music info shows in the middle of the [standby] screen to let you know what's playing instead of going back to the walkman app.

oh ok. i never thought of that. so it takes up the same space of the "large version" of the standby clock? That's pretty nifty.

i love everything about this phone, except that my w180's got AF and this one doesnt. sigh,

Sorry, a guy's gotta sleep

Yes if you run a flash theme and minimise the player the information is presented on the main screen with each theme producing different results. The more I own this phone, the more I love it.

I don't miss the onboard memory at all. I have about 700mb of stuff on my memory card and only 3 on my phone. I can't see any lag or reduction in quality. As for the speaker it is better than my wifes K800i so I'm happy with that.

The camera is more or less the same as the W800i with the lack of AF, but if you wanted a camera you should have bought one, after all this is a phone and the only Mp3 player I use as well. (apart from my w800i which I have moth balled.)

SE continue to make quality phones. I'm at the point now where I don't even look at what other companies are making. Next phone will be an SE and the next, and the next, and the next.................

I'm considering getting a W850. I have a K750 and I found myself using the music player everyday whereas I rarely use its camera. So I'm looking for a new phone with a better player and I don't really mind the fact that the w850's camera doesn't have AF.
Now, I have a very specific question: Does the W850's player has the same annoying 1-second silence between tracks as the K750? That 'gap' between tracks (I have a lot of live CD's) is very annoying. Does anyone know for sure if it plays the tracks continously??
