Unfortunately, as usual, SE won't listen.

I don't know if this is the best outlook for all that is being done.

Sure there are some aspects of the firmware where SE no doubt have already made a strategic decision about and no amount of nagging will change.

But I think this is exactly what is currently being discussed: Discerning the difference between firmware bugs, and features (or changes) that users would like to see included.

So yes, I know I will continue to contact SE with regards to bugs I find on my handsets, I encourage everyone else to do the same.

It just makes sense. If I were selling a phone, and user upon user contacted me saying that there was background noise in the radio player. I'd say "Gosh - there's background noise in the radio - an oversight on my part", get it tested, then get it fixed.

If people contacted me saying it would be better if it came with a spa bath, I'd say "That's probably not going to happen right now."

Sure, M4A may not be a spa bath by a long shot, but I'm sure you can see what I'm getting it. It comes down to understanding how a company's strategy works.

I don't feel that proclaiming 'they won't listen' will get anyone anywhere. But then that's just what I think.

i remember contacting sony ericsson and provided them with a link to the m600i firmware bugs thread link from here and mobilereview. They said they would pass it on to the correct department and for people to let them know of problems which they may have.

But i dont know if they really done anything with the links.......

hopefully a new k800 firmware will be out asap, the p990i already has a new doesnt it, and that just sort of came out....

Why r there so many bugs???

don't they have Quality Checking before releasing to market??

is nokia also experiencing this king of bugging??

That was 1 reason I sold my N80, I had to go to a Nokia Service senter to upgrade and that was over 30 miles away...plus it took an age for them to get the new firmware.....

Jasond and Sha99y hit the nail on the head. To continually complain, and complain, and whine will not get you a f/w upgrade any faster nor compel SE to fix bugs. SE for the most part fixes bugs better than Nokia or any of the other phone venders. Name a vender that has an OTA software update feature, or has their shops centrally located to have work done on the phones. Sure SE release phones that are not perfect but so do the other manufactures. The very same people that make it their life's ambition to complain about everything would be the same ones complaining and whining that SE is not releasing new phones fast enough. These type of people will never be pleased no matter what. I too am waiting for an upgrade to the phone but unlike many hear, I am not complaining or whining or questioning the quality control at SE. I realize that making software for phones that have media players, cameras, RSS News readers, web browsers, etc.... is not that easy and to have it all work flawlessly first time, every time is like searching for the perfect woman. The thing to do is to write your bug reports, submit them to SE and hope for the best. The shelf life of most phones is 6 months with new ones replacing them almost as quickly as they come out. The k800i will be old hat in a month or two and for sure I will get the latest and greatest but I also know that with this comes risks and I am willing to accept this.

One more thing...

Comment on Events. Everytime i got a missed Call there is a new event.. then what? no shortcut directing to call logs.. once i viewed who missed a call on the NewEvent and press exit.. missed call icon still present...

i think they should put shortcut to call log on that newEvent of missedcall.. cheers!

See, the new K800i is out with R1CF001. It's simply a matter of time it's available on SEUS. Or maybe R1CF001 is suspended as more bugs are lately found? Hmm, be patient..patient and patient, everyone.

For the call list bug, I had to do a wipe of all the entries in the list instead of a full reset. This solved the problem.

I wouldn't recommend to anyone to fiddle around with their call log (ie. deleting entries, etc.) as I believe that led up to the blank entry and ultimately ceased the function of the call log.

Now if only FAR / MPE would work on the K790i. That would be great.

A firmware fix should be due just about around now... it's been nearly a month... plus a phone in high demand like this shouldn't be floating around bugged so heavily.

I'm not too sure if the K750i was like this when it first came out, but it was bugless to me when I first got it. I didn't get it right when it came out, but at the R1K001 stage. I went back to the K750i's F/W review page and hopefully we will all see a huge firmware release similar to the development over there to fix these huge bugs.

i here everyone talking about one bug or the other but i being an ex w550i user am really disappointed with the sooo low volume on my k760i with the hpm-70 as compared to 550i and even the k750i..
even when comparing with the k750i its a hell lotta difference in the sound volume and quality..
the speaker sounds still doesnt bother much but i just bought a 1gb m2 and my music doesnt sound as loud and good as i had expected from se previous experience.
