After the FW upgrade, my personalised alarm tone is very soft! have tried restarting the phone and resaving the tone but still doesnt work. man!

It is still there, and configurable, they just changed the default.
To "fix" it, go to Messaging > Menu (tap the top) > Settings > MMS account > Menu (tap the top of the new window) > Advanced Settings and change "Creation mode" to "Restricted".

Strange, it was set to "Warn" for me from the start... Probably an operator thing that comes with your MMS settings...

the way the alarm works (in the latest FW) is in an increasing mode fashion. that means that the sound starts softer and goes louder.
now, as most of us, we did set nice tones to the alarm. and the phone now increases the volume ONLY after the tone ended.
so the longer the tone, the less you will be able to hear it. someone on this thread already mentioned to use the default Alarmtone, which is very short and this way it will increase the loudness very quick.
I just did that and it works. I don't like the tone, but I can at least hear it.

Yep, you're right. Got new MMS-settings from my operator (instead of the ones SE auto-downloaded for my after the firmware upgrade), and now the setting is selectable.

Just do a master reset as I said in the very beginning, that solved my problem.
