ok.. so why put a 3.2MP cam? why not put, at least, an auto focus? why not just stick wit the 2mp or sumthin? just to make the price higher, maybe?? imo, it a completely waste or money.. but then again, its about everyone's preferences.. looks can be deceiving.. if people will get this phone, i think they are just paying for the design and not the features...
Peace!
MMm, may be this is the reason... The cost to include the software to capture a 3.2 MP equals to the cost of getting a 2MP camera now. Then it make sense to do this "no cost upgrade" for marketing purpose.
Then why not the AF feature in the phone? May be the cost of doing an AF feature in the phone is minimal BUT if the Walkman series got the 3.2 MP AF camera inside, then who will buy the K series then? Marketing people think in "Product differenciation ways" so W = Walkman no AF, K = AF, Flash, but no fancy walkman functions. Then you will buy 2 x phones from SE.
Yes people generally judge things by the look. And that is why SE phones are great.

i presume af requires some kind of licensing fee to the patent holder might of made it uneconomical, and basically the phone is for music so most the people who bought the w880 are going to upgrade to the w890i prob not even knowing what af is for most casual users.

Personally, there is no difference between a 2meg and 3.2 meg for lens just the amount of pixels it captures and decodes. As for autofocus they would need to use a totally new lens, remember how thin the W890i actually is, you couldn't put a thicker lens in allowing for autofocus without increasing the thickness of the phone. As someone pointed out the camera on this phone is very much an afterthought, anyone looking at this phone wouldn't be worried about it's picture capturing abilities. SE have other phones for that.

coz 3.2 mpix sound better than a 2 mpix most mobile users wont be bothered with af they wont investigate the spec closely, when they go to the shop these will see it the latest handset and more mpix and purchase. if it had af it wud prob screw up sales of cybershot range.

my HK one from x1387 has that sticker but the box the UK silver one came it does not
the white paper doesn't mention stereo speakers either and in fact when it talks about "stereo widening" in the walkman player it says "The stereo widening and megabass effects improve the sound experience when listenign to music through a stereo bluetooth headset, external stereo speakers or stereo portable hands free", i.e. no mention of through the handset speaker

Just got a W890 as an upgrade from my W880. Generally pleased with it, but can't seem to find an option for the "sleep mode clock" so there is no way to tell whether the phone is on, or whether there are any missed calls, messages etc just by looking at the phone when in standby. Is this a deliberate battery saving ploy, or have I missed an option in the menus? (it's not under the display menu like in the W880)
