The contact shortcuts tab has been very fast even before the firmware update. But thats because its a much more simplified system of just a list that links to the actual contacts app. Just like the other shortcut tabs on the standby screen.

woah,,,i have to do a hard reset before updating the phone???
I only required a soft reset (*#7780#)
after the FW update, which although I backed up just incase, doesn't remove your personal data like contacts.
Just the update in itself didn't fix anything, it seems alot of the issues relating to standby themes are cached in some way.

John

I have also suffered the same problem. When I clicked my Dictionary icon it says: Load Dictionary Failed, You Should Reinstall The Dictionary Package.
me too..any solution to solve it?

Poor Carol, you've been asking for an answer since one or 2 weeks ago. Seriously, i've lost mine before the FW update cos I did a hard reset. I did a hard reset cos i felt that my phone was packed with too many apps. In fact I didn't have any problems before and after the FW update. The hard reset previously killed all the apps that came with the phone and I've managed to reinstall all except the Dictionary. I've checked with SE and they suggest I bring it back to flash it back to the original state. I didn't do that cos I re-installed another Dictionary app. already.

Found a new bug. Weird one, not a major one & specific to post firmware upgrade. I have black unbranded Satio bought from CPW.
Under Settings>Phone>Phone Management>Security>Phone & SIM card there is 'Phone autolock period' option.
I have my phone set so that the lock code is requred when you reboot. The value after the firmware update is 1 minute. I've changed this to my preference of 'None' but EVERY time I switch the phone off and on (using the power button or battery out and in and reboot) it resets to 1 minute. Also my preference of Lock if SIM card change is always returned to "No".
Bizzare. Anyone else experience this?

I had all sorts of problems with the last firmware. I'd turned off the autolock, but it still locked by itself and required the code on boot-up.
Then the firmware update finally allowed me to turn it off. Now it's off.
I haven't tried to put it back on.
I suspect that you might need to do a soft reset and start over with the settings. When I'm bored over Christmas, I intend to do this.
Another annoying thing I've noticed (can't remember if it was like this before) is that you can't change the earpiece volume until the person you are calling answers. This either means I am deafened when the person answers - or have to say 'hold on' while I turn the volume up after I reduced it from the last caller!
Just about any phone will let you adjust the earpiece volume from the moment you press call/snd or it starts to ring.

I done a hard reset then re-installed the FW, alas my phone is working perfectly now, contact names come up on text messages and wi-fi finds and connects to my router, everything seems to be in order.
