Thanx Mikky, Season's Greetings to you as well. Can somebody perhaps clarify something for me. I'm passing my old PS1 to my nephew, together with loads of games. Now, on my Samsung tv i never had problems with the screen discolouring, etc but his mom maintains that Playstations damage television screens. Any evidence of this? If the playstation damages your screen, shouldnt your dvd player do the same? I think its false accusations tho

Exactly!!! The fact that you can plonk other discs into a PS without any detrimental effects to the screen logically means that games won't damage it either. I tried explaining that to my sis-in-law. It's easier to decline Latin verbs than to reason with her, she's as obstinate as a mule. This message was posted from a WAP device

Sorry iff this was already discussed, internet is acting up and can't access older pages.

What does everyone think about Virgin mobile going into partnership with cell C?

I'd like a psp too. Got offered one in a damaged box by a friend in retail for R700 but it went quicker than I could get the money.

Thats my 2c worth anyway. Seasons greetings to everyone.

Just quickly going back to the Vodafone branding issue again,

so a lot of people in SA perhaps regard having a full-on enabled Vodafone phone, with full access and using the Vodafone content as some kind of 'exclusivity' factor to brag about,in the vein of "Oh,I'm not just using Vodacom...I've got an actual Vodafone phone, with all this and that, and if I upgrade to Vodafone 3G I can do blah..blah..blah..not like you simple Vodacom peasants..."

Oh dear...and if I somehow haven't over-dramatised the situation in the above paragraph, then this sad state of affairs really shows how SA could do with some more networks trying to penetrate the SA market.
If Vodafone is enjoying and causing SA consumers to have such brand loyalty due to some kind of exclusivity factor,or through people not thinking further than their noses to search the net for free downloads and content, then I find the lack of lateral thinking by the SA public disturbing.

Correct me if I am wrong;I'll actually feel relieved if my assumptions are found flawed,as it may restore a bit more faith in SA cellphone consumers' reasoning and rationalising.

Come on Orange, you're already in Botswana..why not SA too..???

It has to be said that Vodafone is a powerful brand. One of the reasons Cell C went into partnership with Virgin is to exploit the latters brand recognition and it's uber cool factor.

On the surface that's what the average subscriber aspires to, a cool brand with a network that will work most of the time and offers "good" products( in actaul fact trying to differentiate between network products is a near impossible- they're all the same)

Off topic. Data bundles were supposed to go on sale yesterday, anyone bought them yet?

Valid points.Perhaps my ranting is just reflecting my personal distaste for network branding and any form of restrictions that we have in the UK,like 'locked' phones, etc.
To be fair, the networks here are responsible for making handsets more affordable with the many pay-as-you-go offers as opposed to sim-free,and the networks do have numerous incentives to warrant some brand loyalty, such as the O2 online sim monthly sms allowances,or Orange's freebies,or whatever.
I just don't enjoy feeling 'bound' to a specific network;I have a collection of sim cards from most of the UK networks and try capitalise on their offers as and when it suits,in unlocked handsets.
I guess I am just trying to have the best of both worlds;having my 'cake' and eating it by trying to maximise the deals that the networks have on phones and services without being obliged to stick to one specific network or their branding.
Scaley wanqa,I be.
