@ Prom1
Thanks for the update man. So, does this mean that we in the US will never ever be able to use a non-US specific 3G phone on a US or Canada UMTS network, since the frequencies don't match? Hate to think that I have to stoop to the level of buying one of those cheapo branded teenie bopper phones from a carrier or someplace like Helio...
Any news/ideas on what they intend to do with the 2100 frequency being auctioned? Any chance they deploy all off them or that a P990a might have both bands for UMTS vs an EDGE solution?

Thanks for the answers! That is very strange how SE would not protect the screen during shipment. But I suspected that from the looks of the photos people have posted of the phones in the box. I guess I will just remove the protector from my P910 and trim it a little. I'm sure it won't cover the screen's increased width, but it's better than nothing until Monday. Can't wait to try the phone!

I just ordered mine from Mobile Planet -- they have 32 in stock here in the US, but none for Expansys in the UK. I paid the extra for overnight, so I should get it tomorrow sometime! This is very exciting.
Quick question to owners out there: does the P990 come with a temporary plastic film over the screen like the P910 and other SE phones do? Because my screen protector won't be here until probably Monday.
Thanks!
Who is your phone provider? I'm thinking getting one too from Mobile Planet. I have TMO as my provider. How would you configurate the phone setting? (MMS, WAP, GPRS). Currently I have K750i and I did the TMO Configuration OTA from their site in order to configure my K750i.
Thanks.

to configue P990i for TMO use in the US:
1) go to SE UK site
2) go to m600i page
3) go to support
4) go to auto-configuration
you will be able to pick USA and T-Mobile from the configurations. m600 and p990 have the same configurations. Don't remember if the p990 auto-configure site is up yet, but either way, it's the same thing. hope this helps.

@ Gcane93 -- My provider is also T-Mobile. I currently have the P910i, which I also bought unlocked from Expansys. Set up was easy with the SonyEricsson online configuration. That isn't up yet for the P990, but you can also just ask T-Mobile for the settings. It doesn't look like my phone is going to ship today, so hopefully I'll get it next week. If you get yours and need any help with the configuration, you can PM me and I'll try to help you out. It should have the same settings as your K750 and my P910.
