No, its a regular Walkman player but with the ability to download songs from a online store over a 3G connection. Something similar to the Amazon.com Kindle e-Book which has a 3G connection to download e-Books over the air.

From the article it doesn't sound like a phone. It's probably Sony's effort at making a "smart" media player (as with having a full blown OS).

still, if the device already has a 3G module making a phone out of it wouldn't be such a huge step

I think that we will have a June announcement. The 'X2' isn't the only qwerty device excluding Reese that is. The X2 does have a lot of RAM and runs very nicely. The camera is also of good quality. The screen is fantastic, I'm not smart enough to say if its OLED or not, either way the screen is impressive. As mentioned earlier, it will have a good processor, obviously different prototypes have different specs.
I think that Aino is just running a modified A2 because

are doing a new interface. Some people say Aino is on A3 but names are not important as this new UI should be quite different to what Aino has. It may be a non-smart touch UI as far as I know. This is expected next year so you'll have to be patient.
At the Walkman end, we should get some news. Nokia will unleash a number of XpressMusic phones and I don't think

will really cope. I've only heard of one touchscreen Walkman which I have been banging on about from last year. Its going to be too late anyhow so who cares.
A number of companies are taking up the nVidia Tegra chip, lets hope

does the same. It does look fantastic on early HTC tests and others are quickly signing up. By the time the X2 comes out though, HTC will have some good stuff out like their own 8MP smartphone and another handset like the Touch HD (possibly with a larger screen). Right now, i'm a big fan of HTC, the only edge

has is with the camera and Walkman player but HTC will blow you mind with their hardware.
