MR (the guy who wrote the first review in dutch) says he's reviewed the final version and it has 256mb of RAM.
I do remember when 384mb was first mentioned, though. It was an interview with Magnus (one of the first, he was with a british woman and there was a guy asking the questions) and at one point he said it comes with 380mb memory. We all figured he was talking about RAM, because X1 comes with 500mb ROM, BUT he may had been talking about the available ROM memory (officialy up to 400mb). If there is a confusion about 384mb RAM this may have been how it started. SE didn't exactly lie, but didn't bother to correct this misunderstanding either (if there is one).

Not sure if this is true I was told that a newer firmware for X1 will be released in 2 weeks, Word of mouth from, Oh btw the panels are FAST!!!
384MB ram 191MB free after boot,
I was a little skeptical at first but I am impressed,
How do we explain this?
256MB or 384MB
If there's only 256MB, then that confirms my initial beliefs that Magnus was actually talking about remaining Flash ROM and NOT RAM. Neither the white paper was updated to 384MB, nor was the official specs on the SE site changed.

Well i guess that puts it to rest!! Did find it odd that they would increase ram so late in the day in addition to magnus not sounding too confident about a device he claims to use everyday!!
Either way, definitely not switching over to the xperia now, though i already knew I wouldn't when I read the online manual. Doesn't appear that SE have done much to jazz up winmob like htc have done. tf3d and a flush screen really does wonders for one handed use! Will be keeping my eye on the Touch HD though...

Yes, the X1 has TouchFlo (kinetic scrolling), but not TouchFlo 3D (the HTC GUI).

yes, if the HD had a dpad or better yet a slide out keyboard it would be as close to perfection i think i would ever see, like an n810 on 'roids!! Perhaps the HD Pro...!
The X1 doesn't come with TF just panels and maybe spb shell, though tf2d can be put on the x1 (similar to tf3d just a little slower and less glossy) but i find the flush screen being almost paramount to effective operation of tf and unfortunately the x1's screen is a bit recessed.
