I just checked and realized the R4EA031 update set my startup screen to Soundwave.jpg
I changed it back to the default and it's all good now

hey guys,
im new here. just thought id share some of my concerns acout the new firmware (R4EA031).
1) graphical issue with the new events menu
2) hardly any diffenence between the bass and megabass preset (when listening thgrough the HPM70 earphones)
3) audio player quality deteriorated
4) audio player volume reduced
Is anyone else having any of the problems mentioned above?
Frankly im really disappointed with the new firmware and would like to switch back to the previous FW (R4DB005) but i dont think this is possible. Im just hoping that sony has been informed of these issues and they will be rectified in the next firmware.

I used
http://www.wotanserver.com/ to get back to the other firmware. It really did not like my phone. "Playback failed" over and over again.. Grr!

Is it just me or the R4DB005 is a step back speaking about the camera, because I have noticed that comparing it to the R4CK003 the videos are more pixelated and the pictures have lost sharpness.
What do you think??

I`ve just updated my phone via SEUS.I am not happy at all with the new firmware. The over all volume of the mp3 player is lower and the is no diference between the Bass and Mega Bass preset. So how can I go back to my previous firmware.

Cingular users sure get hosed with their carrier-branded firmware (v. R4EA031):
http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board/message?board.id=sonyericsson&message.id=25405&page=2
- Favorites menu key replaced with MEdia Net key
- Menus trashed, for lack of a better word

http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board/message?board.id=sonyericsson&message.id=25722
- Songs can no longer be used as ringtones (without some hacking)
http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board/message?board.id=sonyericsson&message.id=25540
- Removed option to change startup screen image
http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board/message?board.id=sonyericsson&message.id=25650
- Diminished earpiece volume
Damned glad I bought my W810 unbranded

I will have to do do with all future mobile phone purchases, it seems. (Until I start my own European-style GSM carrier, anyway!)

I haven't seen much change but yes I do realize that there is hardly a difference between Bass and MegaBass.
One change I saw too was when you send codes to your provider and you get a message back...it no longer scrolls up and down the message is in it's own window.

I have upgraded to R4DB005 and I just noticed something annoying (well for me)
With R4CK003 the profiles were different because you were able to switch or edit them, and I remember that when I connected the handsfree to the phone it changed from "normal" to "handsfree" with icon change and separate settings.
But now it just enables the handsfree icon and it continues in the "normal" one and if I change a setting like muting or something it just changes in normal; because if i want a different one I have to select it manually
