Now i really want a P1i, can i get that phone without the previosly mentioned problems today?

I have a P1 and you can trust that reboots to improve perfmance is something from the past. I'm very happy with the P1.

The Contacts application is the major weakness I can see with this phone.

Hi
I'm not sure anyone already posted this, but I noticed a bug on the latest P1 firmware (R9J005), and probably on previous firmwares too:

When editing Contacts, if you enter a custom created Folder, and move a contact from the current Folder to another custom Folder, it copies the contact but fails to delete the contact from the current folder.

It's a bug because if you kill the Contacts application and reload it, you see that the contact is no longer on the first Folder, and was moved correctly.

The bug is serious because after moving, once you realise that the contact didn't disapear from the current folder, you tend to delete it, but then you realise (usually too late) that was also deleted from the other folder (that was copied to).
You loose the contact all together in this process.

@Lau: I had this with P990i, too.
I use the Contacts section by default and Dreamconnect when I need someting to search for.

..do you think you could write an entry in the wiki for that one?

You link does't work and I don't know what is the "wiki" thing.
Maybe you can copy-paste my post to the wiki?
Go ahead, I don't mind

Johan over at the developer forum encouraged us to use the wiki for semi- official bug- reporting. And the link works, do it yourself! ;p

Here's another bug with the already too bad Calendar application.
If I go to settings and change my "Definitions" sub-menu "Alarm & ?" (I'm translating) view mode to Week, and also change the end time to 19h, it crashes the application when I save the settings.

Edit: Several Corrections

LAU, its very easy to use the wiki

About your "bug", you have to see if other people have it before reporting, because it maybe a specific problem of your phone

And donīt you meen calendar and not contacts?

edit: just tested your settings, and my calendar did not crash

..well. Actually, the idea was that anything should be written into the wiki (on the split- list). And then if someone else spotted the bug, they could make a new page on the problem. And with enough signatures on that new page, we could promote the bug to the short- list.

Very few people (except spammers) seem to want to submit anything to the wiki, though, so we haven't got that far yet. lol. I guess I wasn't as clear about it all as I hoped I was, so I guess we've been having the short- list as the official list, or something of that sort.. (I mean, so far, I just took the things I thought were most irritating, and put them on the short- list. One of the bugs were seconded with a small add in the other section, though . The one with the selections disappearing. ..Which, I think, was the one bug that was fixed on the m600 on the last firmware update, so it was presumably already in the pipeline..).

Anyway - so please go and write in the wiki. Just try to include as much info as possible when confirming a bug, or when describing any new features. (Also, see the "discussion" tab, where I drunkenly give out advice and whiki- kode- examples).

btw, this here's the most official response anyone seems to have gotten from anyone in SE about it all:

Hi Fillerist and thanks for your feedback.
I wonder if you and yours alike can use the P1 wiki:
http://uiq3.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Phones/P1i
for reporting bugs like the ones for P990 over here:
http://uiq3.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Phones/P990i

It would be excellent source for us to get feedback from the usercommunity in a more formal way.

I will redirect your feedback but I know if you guys set up wiki for the p1 it will get more attention then a number of threads.

Cheers
/johan

I'm not sure this is actually a bug, but if you download some movies from TinyTube with Opera, view them, and then ask Opera to delete them, Opera deletes them all right... but none is actually deleted from the disk.
I must alwasys use a file browser and hand delete them from the Movies folder.
