Same here every time i go to look at the phone there's a good chance it's back to default (resetting itself - taking to doing it with no warning)
However I'm finding it a lot more stable than R1DA038 was, and this time i can start the phone with the 8gb card inside, so slowly climbing back up to 2000+songs

i bet you removed the ask for the pin code at startup.
If you put somethin at startup like the pin code, the flight mode, or an animation the theme won't reset to default walkman.

If I have the option to choose Flight Mode at startup enabled it still happens.
The phone has never asked for a pin on startup and the pin settings have never been messed with. Dont know about phones from other countries but UK sim free ones never ask for a pin code on startup unless the user enables it after the 1st startup of the phone.
The phone starts up with the default animation (flashy walkman startup thing).

Rookwise: I actually have been looking at the HBH-GV435 and HBH-GV435a SE bluetooth headset, and because it's not a cheap buy I really would like to know if it works well with w910i.
Anyone that has experience with the HBH-GV435 is welcome to share your thoughts:
-What is the difference between HBH-GV435 and HBH-GV435a?
-Which performs better?
-Is call quality decent? or you get a lot of static...
-Do the bluetooth lose signal when left idle inside your pocket for a period of time?
Your thoughts on this topic would be appreciated

The GV-435a is just a slightly updated version of the GV-435. The 435a has slightly better battery life and

promises it will have fewer dropped connections than previous bluetooth models.
On the 030 firmware I found that the GV-435 dropped the call connection after 3 minutes and there was a 1 minute delay before the W910 prompted that the connection had been lost. Never had any problems when it's connected to my K810, K850, P1i, W960, W380 or S500. Since updating to 033. Call connectivity has improved and have managed a 12 minute call with no interruption in connection.
Sound quality on the GV-435 is excellent. I've not experienced any static and the auto volume adjust works fine.
I've been thinking of updating to the 435a myself and the 435 is an excellent headset. I've had my 435 for 8 months now and its showing signs of wear. Its survived a few drops as well.
If I could fault the headset it would be that it does not fit very well if you wear glasses (I do) as the rear of the headset does not sit correctly behind the ear creating a loose fitting. This can cause the headset to fall off if you turn your head sharply. This is not just the the GV-435 that has this problem though as I've experienced this with many of my bluetooth headsets in the past.
I would say go for the GV-435 as they can be bought quite cheaply from play.com and Ebay but if you want the most up to date and prefer the Grey/Black colour then go for the 435a.

Hello! I'm new here. hehe. Hm, oh, I have a W910i, firmware: R1EA033. I'm happy with my phone but there's one thing that annoys me much;
Whenever I get a call, or make a call, or lose my 3G/HSDPA signal, my headset gets disconnected. (i have HPM-85 and HPM-90). I thought either the headset or the phone is faulty. The headsets work fine with other SE phone models, say my sister's K770i, so nope, its not the headset being faulty. then i thought my phone is faulty. asked for a replacement and somehow i got lucky - i got a brand new replacement of W910i, but the problem is still there. I'm guessing its a firmware issue? any of you having this problem? if so, did u manage to get it fixed?
check this out too.

and this (read the comments);

and lastly, this;

I figured out that the W910 and K850 are having problem with the headsets.

only the HPM-70 (the headset that came with my w910) and bluetooth headsets (HBH-DS980) work well on my W910.
so anyone? anyone manage to get it fix?

Wow, thank you very much Rookwise for sharing your thoughts on the HBH-GV435 series. I really want to get this bluetooth headset for my w910i, and thanks for helping with clearing up the differences between the "a" and "non-a" version of the GV435.
thanks again for sharing pal
Have a great weekend man,
TJC

You are not alone with it, same with mine HPM90. but it works great when listen music, when speak with it, it can become very annoying..
upgraded to R3EA033 2days ago. I have noticed the battery performance it's much much better than R3EA030, still at 50% left..

Hey Silver.
Oh, that is good to know but but, hmm, this sucks. i have to switch my phone to flight mode for it to function well. HAHA. but that isn't fun. do u think that a new firmware will fix that? any way to recommend SE to do that? hehehe. i did email SE from S'pore for support. they told me to update firmware, which i had done way before i got the headset. when i explain more of the issue, they couldn't answer that :\\
I could just use the HPM-70 but HPM-90 sounds so much better than the HPM-70... hmm. :\\

Hi afhum,
I returned my first W910 because of this problem but I still had it with the second one so I decided to keep it anyway.
The slider got stuck after a week so I had to return it. The 3rd headset still had the headset problem.
I've tested 3 different W910 with 2 HPM-82 + 1 HPM-90 and 4 different firmwares but the problem is still there. I phoned and mailed SE customer services and they don't even know about it.
I think this will never be fixed because that handset simply sucks.
