1020 is better because the pureview 41 mp technique, better details, better in low light...it's just logical...
But i agree with Bono, GS4 or G2 isn't ridiculous a all...especially when you see stuff like this...

Indeed. I have come to the conclusion that Nokia Lumia's are not quite the great amazing camera's they shout about. Often noisy with muddy details. Maybe it's down to the OS I don't know but I gone right off them.

Have you seen the samples on sites such as GSM arena ? its brilliant to see companies like Sony attempt the Pureview trick of Nokia's and pull it off so badly. The Z1's images are good, but terrible compared to the 808 and 1020.
I was particularly enraged this evening when I went to my usual sites and saw Sony's advert for the Z1, saying "the worlds best camera in a waterproof smartphone" !!!
Worlds best camera ? what over every camera in the world ever ? seriously ??

They could be right, considering they used the words "waterproof smartphone"

I love Sony, for all things Sony such as my PS3 and soon to be PS4, but im starting to think their mobile department is run by a completely different company. That advert annoys me as much as Apple's adverts have done in the past.
Maybe its a new way of marketing, blatant lies and exaggerations to dupe people into buying your products.

I personally think Pure view would be better on another platform. WP is limiting it's potential image wise and speed. Most WP I have had except the HTC 8X all the cameras have possessed a rather slow shutter speed. WP never seem to be able to implement a decent burst shot mode. The Nokia Smart Cam needing 2 gig ram to run it and is still quite slow there's something wrong there. Surely we know Nokia can do better than that but again I believe it's the WP platform being very limiting for it's hardware. Let's hope GDR3 is the big improvement that MS say when it brings improvements for better hardware.

Nokia Smart Cam works fine on both my Lumia 920 and 925 with only 1gig ram available.
When you say you believe that WP is limiting PureView's potential and that WP8 has slow shutter speeds , is that based on any sort of hard evidence. If the HTC 8X has acceptable shutter speed then surely it cant be a restriction of the OS ?
I for one cannot wait for the 1020 to arrive. Nokia are still the most innovative and successful at camera phone photography and it has always been that way whatever the OS. Even the much maligned EDoF modules on the S60 devices took more than reasonable images in the correct conditions and with the right person behind the lens.
